Anyone know of a nice marina, maybe with a pool or food near by? Town? My son is in the US Coast Guard and is stationed in Cape Cod ( Training to be a Rescue Swimmer :D) . My plan is to take a trip next year and visit him. I did a google map look and doesn't look like there's much in Buzzards Bay. Thanks

Where is he stationed? On the base? The only marina on the cape with a pool that I know of is Hyannis marina. It is a nice marina with lots of restaurants and stuff to see within walking distance. The pool is in the restaurant/bar so sometimes it can get a little colorful there in the afternoons once the band starts playing. Nothing offensive (Usually) but gets to be a bar seen. They usually have plenty of transient dockage so getting in there is not an issue. There is nothing I know of of the Buzzards bay side with a pool. A nice marina just before the bridge is Kingman. There is nice anchorage just outside the marina to anchor up for the day and walk the beach. It is a really busy bay in the summer with lots of activity. There is a decent restaurant on site but other than that it is in a quite area on land.
Falmouth where is have my slip is a nice harbor with McDougals marine for transient as well as some transient slips with the town. Town is a 10-15min walk depending on which side of the harbor you get a slip in and has lots of restaurants to choose from. If you are up this way defiantly make a run over to the Vineyard. Oak bluffs is crazy in the summer and is the party town. Book way ahead to get a slip or get a mooring in the harbor first come first serve but people will raft onto you. Black dog Wharf at Vineyard Haven is a nice little dock with town right there with some good restaurants. Vineyard haven is a smaller town. Edgartown is the nicer of the 3 but only a few slips and are crazy money so plan ahead to get a town mooring is going there overnight. All three are easy day trips from Falmouth or Hyannis.

The only marina on the Cape I’m familiar with is Provincetown. It’s a beautiful marina, possibly about the most modern in New England. It’s also one of the most expensive. We only went once this year and ended up being disappointed. Not with the marina, but with the town. It seemed many of the up scale establishments of previous years had not opened this year, leaving the remainder to be tee shirt shops and fast food places.
