The foam strip is coming off my engine room hatch. What is the best adhesive for this application? Foam is still good, just not sticking to the hatch any longer.

4200 or something else?

Good call. For this application you need something that is high-tack for a quick bond. Marine adhesive sealants like 4200 are more goopy and and low-tack.

You could also use something like a contact cement; it tends to be readily available at the hardware store.
Actually Home Depot sells the 5 oz 3M Black Super Weatherstrip

I used standard contact cement last year. Held up this year with multiple engine hatch openings. I think the more important part is how you get to clamp it while it dries. I used many pieces of wood and clamps.
