I just left the Airbus facility in Mobile to head home. Looks like this one will be not so much rain but a real surge event with a wide wind field. When I lived in Covington, LA 40 years ago, they always said the most damage will come from one that hits right at the mouth of the Mississippi and packs Lake Pontchartrain with the surge.

I am originally from Gulfport, Mississippi. My grandpa and I would travel to Louisiana many times a year to go fishing for Speckled trout, and Red fish. He would say something very similar when we would be driving across Lake Ponchartrain.

We live here in Covington and we are waiting for the blow....again. I think we are just far enough north and west that it is going to be a minor event for us. But it will affect some. Now expected to be a Cat 2 by landfall and move out very quickly.

Windspeed up to 105 mph. Its moving very fast. Supposed to be in the Carolinas tomorrow afternoon.

NW Georgia is now under a Tropical Storm Warning. Peak Wind Forecast is for winds 30-40 mph with gusts to 55 mph starting early Thursday morning..

ATL Metro schools now remote only (canceled) tomorrow and gust forecast upgraded to 60-70 MPH for much of the area. Looks like it’s gonna be a fun night.

My son is in Baytown, TX until about March for work. Right on the bay between Houston and Galveston. I rode down with him then flew back a few days later. He is living in his camper at a campground in Mont Belvieu. We got there a couple of days after Sally hit. So far he has got some wind and rain from these storms but has escaped and damage thankfully.

Here is a pic of the truck and camper right when we pulled in to the campground (1400 miles later):

Just talked to my managers in NOLA, lots of tree and roof damage, they are in the eye right now. Real mess out there on the West Bank they say.

I am in Atlanta today, was in Annapolis yesterday still nice here but should get wet later they say.

That area across south LA over to FL panhandle has had its share of storms this year. Hope everyone is safe.

Storm hit about 4:00am, and we lost power shortly thereafter. Supposed to be restored by 10:00am..checked the boat via the cameras, and it doesn't appear to have any damage that I can see.

We lost power at 5:15am on the east side of Lanier and it is still out. Have not heard of any boat damage yet....

Lots of trees down. Sat in traffic on I-985 for 2.5 hr this morning....

Still no power here. The storm knocked a large limb which fell across the main 3 phase feeder line, not a 1/2 mile from the house..one line pulled loose from the pole and is laying on the side of the road..
I did run over to the marina and the only damage they had were to some trees..

Was flying a red eye back into ATL this morning. We watched the barometer drop as the storm blew threw. Ended up holding for about 20 minutes due to wind shear and microburst alerts reported at the field. Winds exceeded our landing limit for a while as well. We were the first to land and it was a bumpy ride! Stuck the landing though:)

On the ride home, there were lots of trees down and ATL looks like it was freshly landscaped with pine needles

At the house, we have been without power and limited cell service since this morning. A nice tree in front of the house has blow over...shame. I have not been to the boat, but don’t expect and damage there.

Hope everybody faired well!

I flew up from RSW and landed ATL at 1100. Bumpy down low. Drove over to the Delta Training Center, checked my home internet - no power. texted a neighbor - she said power went off in Marietta at 0434. It came back around 1900 - right before I got home. So I had ice cubes to chill my martini glass!!
