Now that many of us are landlocked for at least a few month's, I thought it would be a good idea to share other hobbies. I'm always looking for something new and fun. I have a few, some of which occur with the boating season...and generally I do when boating isn't an option. I'll start.
Motorcycling (Harley Road King)
Bullseye target league (.22)
I used to snowmobile but gave it up for safety reasons
Golf...I gave it almost up cuz I am not good anymore
"Amazoning" I like to buy myself presents

Bullseye target (22 when I can get shells, 45 hand loads otherwise)
Drone photography

RV weekend trips. Hiking while camping. Dirtbiking or riding the side by sides. Occasionally get a winter ride on the boat in Texas. Car projects/maintenance in the off season as well. Target shooting. Working out. Brewery sampling.

I’m remodeling my entire first and second floor from ceiling to flooring including new recessed lighting, new cabinets and granite countertops. Also new master bathroom. I’ll be ready for the boat come springtime!!

Mine lately seem to be raking leaves and raking more leaves. And keeping Amazon from going bankrupt.

I'm refinishing some of the wood on our Whaler so I guess that qualifies as a hobby. I'm so bored I'm down to about 2000 grit sandpaper (actually the sheets are plastic with an extremely fine abrasive on one side). If I could find 3000 grit I'd be tempted to extend my hobby a bit.

This should feed both hobby addictions for a while. LOL

Yes indeed, there are many on the market in the Midwest and East Coast. We are not interested in a long distance buying experience. We will wait to find the right boat on the West Coast. We missed the weather window to bring one down the coast from the PNW so we may just need to wait till spring. Its a good "problem" to have all things considered;)

Wobble trap shooting, target shooting, reloading. Also working on the boat while in my building, doing upgrades.

I do stage lighting for a large church. Here are a few examples of my work. Taken with an iPhone so not exactly the best quality.

Ahem, I happen to know a guy who has been part of a 3-person delivery crew that took a 58' Bayliner from Seattle down to Stockton a few years ago.

That's yours truly on the left in this photo. I served as crew and cook. Just sayin' in case you were looking around for a person with experience on bigger boats.

In the late fall or winter months? I am lead to believe that weather windows are short and few between. I don't mind a little adventure but i'm not interested in experiencing extreme boating conditions just to get a boat a few months earlier.
If we do find one up north though I'll look you up. Thanks

No, I wasn't suggesting we do it now. That trip I made before was in June and, while most of the weather was good, we did end up with 3 weather delay days. June to August is the time to make that trip.

Homebrewing, photography, taking care of a 2 year old, and some stuff around the house.

And of course all the projects on our new boat getting ready for spring

While building a home in Fla this winter my wife wants us to get another motorcycle to ride during the winter months so,maybe back to riding soon. We like shooting, skiing and occasional walks on the beach........

Non boating hobbies/pastime have taken a hit with the pandemic. This time of year through spring I normally would have been preparing for and going to sporting clays registered shoots, but most are being postponed or canceled. I still have weekly trap and five stand leagues to keep me busy.

Having the boat stored inside is both a blessing and a curse. This winter I need to strip the paint from the pods and re-apply, as well as strip and refinish about 80 feet of 1”x4” teak toe rail. There are also some spots on the interior woodwork needing a finish refresh as well. Did I mention my least favorite thing to do is anything that involves a paint brush? On the plus side I need to make teak deck grates for the shower and head areas. I’ll also be doing some upgrades to the trim tabs (auto control and incorporating into nmea2k). On the project management side we have new helm cushions being done as well as an upgrade to the depth transducer to go with the fancy electronics installed this past spring.
