Next question. How do you get the shower sump pump out? I don’t see anything holding it down. Got the cover off and the hose off. Stuck there.

Under the bunk in the second stateroom as previously stated.
Yep. Right where you said it would be under that bunk

But the cable runs back to the engine room. Need to figure out the routing to the helm.

It should go down the side of the hull (port), then up behind the area of the couch and radio to the flybridge.

Running a new cable is not going to be fun, and the old one is not going to be of any help to you. Best advise is to make a cable run starting at the area under the bunk, through port side of the engine room going aft, then up past the area directly behind the electrical panel, up past the radio area then up to the flybridge.

Best of luck.

Anyone know the trick to removing this salon speaker? We removed the screws on the close out panels but they are really stuck in there tight. Do we just need to pop off the cover from the front? It’s not obvious at all and we don’t want to damage the cloth cover.
Any advice would be appreciated

The close out panels come out. Remove the screws and work it loose.

Should have two plastic clips, one on each side. Squeeze them in and lift the pump out.

Yes, if you haven't figured it out yet. The speaker covers are just press fit in. Take a screwdriver and gently pry them out around the edges, and they'll pop right out. Once that is off, the speaker screws are visible and unscrew like any other speaker.

Thanks, We will give it a whirl this weekend. Now that I'm boatless I seem to have extra time on my hands to fix everyone else's boat. I'm actually going to go do the annual service on my old boat with the new owner next week, it helps with the separation anxiety;)

Hey all
I tried to hook up a 12volt compressor and plug it into the 12v outlet in the salon. I blew a fuse. Does anyone know where it is or how to replace it ? It’s not the breaker panel on the salon or the DC breakers back on the stern. Any help would be appreciated ?

Go check the GFR's in the heads. Those will pop and shut down your electrical.

i checked the one in the galley. I didn’t think the 120v GFCI would have any impact on the DC 12v outlets.
Thats a tricky one. That 12V outlet was added mid-2001 so the earlier boats don't have it. I've always wondered where it gets it power but mine has never tripped so I haven't had to figure it out yet. But, there are a set of 12v breakers at the helm on the door under the steering wheel. One of them is for the 12v receptacle at the helm. I'm going to make a guess that they also tied the salon 12v receptacle to that same breaker. See what you find out there.

No worries Captronn. I’ve done it. Lol
Well the 12v outlet at the helm was still operating. I checked the 12v outlet up there but didn’t check the breakers or fuses up there because that one was working. I’m going to do some checking tomorrow. If I find it I’ll let everyone know. I’m not even certain how to get it out if I need to replace it.

Good luck. I'll be on my boat tomorrow. I'll poke around and see what I can figure out as well. Might just have its own inline fuse behind it.

Thanks Drafter, We got the cover pried out with a sharp putty knife and the speaker replaced.\Appreciate the guidance.

One of my least favorite things to do is removing the Cummins starboard belt guard. Gotta remove overflow bottle and halon tank. Then rotate the guard about 210 degrees to slide it out. Big bottom bolt is no joy to access either.

Your belt guard is metal?
I wonder if that's the difference. Remember, we were trying to figure out why mine is no problem. The plastic version might be a different shape. Or they mounted the halon bottle lower on yours. Mine slides out under the bottle. Maybe you can move the bottle up?

Ah, just noticed you have brackets also.
No brackets on mine, just holes in the guard, threaded studs stick out of brackets that stay on the motor. I remove three 1/4" nuts to remove the guard.
You can see one of the holes in front of my thumb in that picture.

Sorry, there's another upgrade for you :)

Ha! Yes, metal. And the bottom bolt doubles as one of the two bolts holding the engine mount cross member to the engine. So I always put it right back in while the guard is off.
