Official 330 Sundancer Thread

Thank you so much!
Yes, we had it surveyed. And it turns out that it’s in GREAT shape.
I am truly excited to lear bout he boat (and boars in general). I looked at the prices to get it professionally winterized, and man...wow.
I was thinking of maybe doing some myself. Maybe the water, the black water, the bilges, the fuel tanks; and then have t wrapped and taken out for the winter.
As for painting the hull...is that done every year?
Thanks so much

It sounds like you know very little about ownership of a boat. Until you do, you should probably have a professional winterize it the first time and oversee and watch what they do. And search and read the winterization threads on this site. If you don't winterize the engines properly and they freeze and crack the blocks you very likely will need new engines. That repair will be about $20,000. The AC/heat system also needs to be done.

The 330 is a great boat. You will enjoy it.

let the marina winterize the engines. You can do everything else. Many posts on this site and else where on winterizing water systems, AC ad the like. Good luck.

Hello Everyone, I winterized my boat with a new mechanic this year. He noted four recommended deficiencies to be repaired come spring. I'm not sure what the first recommendation is. I'm looking for some advice before I ask him just to have a little knowledge as to what he is talking about. The recommendation is
Twin engine biennial engine coolant system maintenance and exhaust inspection/reseal is due.
Are we talking about draining old coolant for fresh coolant and inspecting the risers and elbows?
Thanks in advance?

Thats how I interpret it.

Hi guys,
Has anyone upgraded their eisenglass to another, better option (ie: ez2cy or the like)? I have mine redone every 3-4 years because they get scratched from rolling up or they are wavy, distorting the viewing area. I'm trying to think of a better option. TIA

Hi everyone,
You guys have been so helpful tin the past, I wonder if you can help out a newbie.
I went to fuel up today, and every minute or two, the gas would burp and spray all over. The gas attendant and I tried slowing down the nozzle, using different angles, and nothing worked
I also tried opening up the Port tank while refueling the starboard tank, to see if that would work...nothing.
Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Did this happen on both tanks or only one? It sounds like you were filling the starboard & opened the port? If only one tank had this issue it sounds like your vent could be clogged. It can be a corroded screen, bug nest or a couple of other things. I had mud wasps clog mine once & had a similar experience that you describe.

Hi Todd,
Thanks for the info. I honestly didn’t even try the port side. I became so frustrated I decided to call it quits.
Are the vents easy to find? And clean? I will head to the marina again today and see if I can clean them.
Thanks again,
Luis

Luis, the vents are round stainless steel protrusions on the side of the hull about 1 inch in diameter. There will be two of these vents on each side of your hull. On the starboard side one will be for the fuel tank and the other for the water tank. On the port side, one will be for the port fuel tank and the other for the waste tank.

Thanks so much!!! Found them! im improvising and spraying some electronics duster canned air I to them to see if anything comes out.
There must be a brush designed to clean these things :)

thanks so much!

When mine was filled with mud & wasp larvae I used a coat hanger with the end bent over & rounded to break through. Air wouldn't get thru it.
