Boat is a 2001 and has several original Perko drains, one of which had corroded so badly in the center screen area it had cracked. After replacing, not an easy task, the new one started to tarnish. Just a few cleanings later the chrome plating on the brass screen only started to deteriorate and show the brass. The body is chrome plated cast bronze and not affected. It’s a 2-7/8” OD flange and a 1-1/4” pipe. These drains are expensive and hard to find. The extensive maintenance and eyesore is driving me crazy. All the others are fine in the boat. Anyone experience this? Ideas?

Also I have tried several different coatings and the discoloration continues to come back.

Russ, how did you remove the drain screen. I have looked at it a few times and tried to pry a little, but was afraid of damaging it more so I stopped. Thanks,

I replaced the main sink with a stainless steel one on Home Depot as well after the drain stopper likely fell into the trash. Same thing, remove and take to the local hardware store.

The one I'd like to replaace next is the shower drain. I have no idea how to get to that one.

I looked for months and tried every resource I could find. Regarding the actual replacement it was near impossible and very painful. I do not want to have to do it again - good luck.

There are stainless drains in Tiara's showers, and they hold up well. You could call the factory and ask who their vendor is. They are responsive to questions.
Another advantage of the drain used by Tiara is they provide a spanner wrench that is used to open sea chests for cleaning, and the wrench also opens the shower drains for cleaning. Slick design.

Have you tried going to a good plumbing supply, I'm sure they could come up with something in Stainless you could use
Hey its worth a try!

If yours is the same as mine.... flush screen to the flange. It is crimped in place. I just used a screw driver and popped it out.... it goes back in and stays there.... easy now to clean

I used the same bar sink strainer to replace my galley sink drain. I had to use a drill to break off the flange nut as it was so corroded. I now want to tackle the shower drain, but have no idea how to access under the floor in the head on my 2003 320DA. Anyone have a clue?
