Dumb question...How did you get 2 card readers connected up? If I recall on my Axiom, there was only 1 connection, and I installed a dual mSD card reader. One holds my Navionics Card, the other is a 64 GB card I use to download Spotify music for when I dont have data capablilities.

Hi I have two Axioms installed. But I would be curious and expect a Microusb splitter would work for a single unit..

Dropped my cockpit interior off today, excited to see the finished product. It’s a guy that does it out of his house. He had a 62 Chevy truck in his shop he was doing the interior on. Just does great work

Are you doing two tone or straight white?
More accent than 2 tone, something like Marc Blondin did, a little different

Hey folks - What's the purpose of the filter behind this vent under the staircase? I presume the vent is there just to allow for some airflow behind the galley appliances and the hot water heater and such? The crap metal filter isn't dirty, so there can't be a great deal of air flow through it, compared to the filter over my heater/AC return vent.

Any thoughts? Is it just to keep dust and debris out of the space back there?

<rant> Also, I seem to read that many if not most of you have your hot water heater under a couch cushion in the aft stateroom. I have space for it there for sure, aside the built in vacuum, but for some reason mine is installed in this crap location that I can only get to marginally this way or fully by removing the galley refrigerator. </rant>

I have the same set up in my 38. If you look thru the opening to the right, you will see the fan for the refrigerator condenser. So airflow through there is good for your fridge.
I also had a leak from the cold water line in to the water heater. I had to remove the fridge to have room to work in there. The grate lets me occasionally check to see if the leak has returned without having to take out the refrigerator.

I figured it was just an airflow thing. Not clear on why the wire mesh filter is there. I am considering pulling my frig out and installing a water filter and accumulator tank in that space and running a pex line to the water 'hub' in the bilge and back such that all water on the boat passes through a filter and then into an accumulator. Have to figure out what I have space for but that seems like a good place since there is clearly some open space behind the frig and the water heater.

Nice boat, by the way. :)

Has anybody replaced the SkyScreen on their bow stateroom hatch? I'm hoping for a three-way solution that let's me pull a bug screen, a blackout shade and that opens so I can access the hatch.

As far as I can tell, this is the like-for-like replacement for what I have on my 38, but this poses the same problem I currently have which is I can't get to the hatch at all. Kind of pointless to have a hatch that opens when you can't access the opening mechanism without a toolbox.

Dometic Oceanair Skyscreen Recessed - Combination hatch blind for

This is the Dometic that has the three-way application, but this would require me to redo the frame and headliner I'm pretty sure.

Dometic Oceanair Skyscreen Concealed - Roller hatch screen

Wondering if anybody has found a good alternative or if anybody has purchased the concealed version and found if it fits without too much retrofitting trouble.

On the 2000 models. And it looks like on this the first link is the same. The black out shade latches to the screen(while it’s closed). Same thing while the black shade is closed the screen pulled over and latches on it.

But if yoh unlatch either while in the open position, it will retract and give you access to the hatch mechanism (while the screen and black shade or both retracted

if that makes any sense at all

Thanks. So, unless I’m crazy, that is not the case on mine. The blackout and screen are connected in the center and my only choice is one way or the other. Either blackout or screen but not neither.

Specifically different than the first link, I have only a single handle. Not two that are independently attached to the two different shades.

Anyone completely changed their ceiling lights in the cabin. What LED fixtures have you went with, wanting to get rid of more gold

Thanks in advance!

I just changed the bulbs to LEDs from the Halogens. The LED draw a lot less voltage of course and they run a lot cooler. It seems the cost of the fixtures is pretty high because marine.

I just looked on Amazon and there are some 12V LED pucks with black trim. Not "marine" grade from the marine store but...they are 12V. Might match up to your painted switch plates. Those look great BTW!

Those look pretty good and a nice price.

Watch your fingers with the spring bale...you only smash it once! Then you are super cautious.
