does anyone have a lead where i can get top hatches for my boat and the door for my anchor hatch. all the sites i have used do not have the correct size. any help would be appreciated. thanks scott

It would be helpful to have pictures or a better description. But... "top hatches"... I assume you mean the plexi deck hatches that open up for venting? Make sure you are comparing apples to apples for the sizing... cutout or deck flange size, for example. Bomar and Lewmar are probably the two biggest players in hatches - check them out.

For the anchor hatch... is this fiberglass? Finding one of those laying around somewhere for sale is worse than trying to find a needle in a haystack. That was made by Sea Ray and the molds for that are long, LONG gone. You might get lucky (you'd have to be the luckiest guy in the world!) finding one by googling for various marine salvage yards. But your best bet is probably going to be just to rebuild it, which isn't all that hard.

FYI... your boat's HIN is not going to help you with anything in regards to your projects - you won't find any type of specs/lists like you would with a car.

My 1979 Sea Ray 260 DA had an anchor hatch made out of plywood with a teak strip on the pull side. It basically disintegrated over the years. I went to a local plastics guy & got one made out of starboard.

If you really want to know accurately what your boat weighs, take it to a truck scale and weigh it. Then take the boat and launch it. Take the trailer back to the scale and weigh it. Subtract the trailer weight from the first weight with boat and trailer.

As for finding original parts, that is really difficult. I have a 1972 Sea Ray SRV 190 and finding original parts is near impossible. The exception is the engines. Most engine parts are readily available. Sometimes you can find used original parts on ebay, and other online sites. But it's few and far between.
