Cabinet round push button latch stuck

Great to know! Yes, please let us know how you make out.
The test knob and ring arrived. The ring looks like a fit but the knob does not have the extension the old one does so it will be too short. Cranked on the old knobs extension hoping it would unscrew but no luck. You can see the bite marks from the vise-grips on old knob & extension in the photo. Has anyone seen these extensions or have any other suggestions? I didn’t see an extension on FP.

Project is still not finished. Working on fabricating an extension for the drawers since not finding anything online. If anyone knows a source for the button extension I am all ears. In the meantime I am trying to decide which hardware to got with. The one on the right is what I prefer but you have to buy the whole assembly which is about $23 each + shipping. Item on left you can get button and ring only for approx $15 each. Need about 30 total. Interested in opinions from anyone else who has made this upgrade. Either way pounding the old ring out is a PITA.

I am never asking how to change a light bulb on this forum ........ :)

Similar issue replacing some Hafele brand drawer latches. Boat was missing two drawer knobs when we bought it. After a year and a half of fruitless searches for the knobs with the extended shafts, I made my own extensions for the kobs I bought.

Bought a threaded shaft and some screws. M6 1.0 thread. Cut the shaft to about 10mm and cut the screws to make a short stud. Worked like a charm and took maybe 30 min once I had the parts. If you have a bench vise, a hacksaw (or dremmel with a cutting wheel) and a file to clean any rough edges... too easy!

Original unobtainable extended shaft knob on the right.

You’ll have to confirm the threads on the mechanism/knob your hardware uses. But other than that, too easy.
