Just recently a few years back I am thinking 2008 or 2009 there was a well known boat manufacturer who made a 54 foot boat I believe which was similar to a Sundancer, except in front of the helm area it was open to allow sunlight down into the Salon area below. I think they later made a 44 foot model using the same concept. I am thinking the new 51 Sea Ray Sundancer is built similar to the boat I am trying to locate.

Can anyone provide me with the name of the boat I am looking for?

Thanks

It was built like that, but I do not believe that was the name of the manufacturer.

wasnt there a thread a year or two ago about a boat that looked like that rocking the docks in the niagra river with his wake.

you planing to change out your sr?

Reviving this old thread from 2013. I was looking on Yachtworld and came across this listing for a "Sea Ray Savannah" and thought it was interesting. I had never heard of such a model. Reading the description, the listing broker ties the Savanna to Sea Ray with this: " Built in the USA, By Leadership including ex-Searay President and CEO Bill Barrington, ex Searay manufacturing executive Gary Stoeker and a full team of quality craftsman, and designers. "

I then searched under "Savanna" only and found another 2008 model for sale. The broker on this boat makes this statement: "Beacon is one of only 6 boats to be completed out of the 7 hulls that Savannah produced. The first 4 out of the 6 were completely finished by Savannah Yachts from start to finish. Hulls 5 & 6 were completed by Hinckley Yachts in Savannah, GA. Beacon is one of those 2 boats to be completed by Hinckley and she is loaded with options. She was first splashed in January of 2010 with a list price of $1,700,000!"

Has anyone here seen any of the 6 completed boats? The pictures look amazing. Any more information about the company formed by ex-Sea Ray executives? Here are the links to both listings:

Bad grammar on a web site is not a great sign. Maybe ESL but still....caveat emptor.
I noticed that also and placed it in quotes for that reason.

I wonder if the failed Savannah venture led some of the former Sea Ray employees to return to Sea Ray? The L590 has a very similar layout and even shares the term "atrium" describing the retractable glass roof over the open step down area to the galley and staterooms.

Really bad luck on their original timing starting up in 2007 and then the financial crisis decimated their market right at the time they needed a strong market. Too bad. The boats look nice.

Nice looking yacht....Never new about this startup before.
