2002 340 6.2L’s 16mph max

Yup. V drives. 4500 max. No engine codes.
Good be wrong props. Dont know!
Hello all,
I agree, it's most likely props.
We run a 2006 340 (375 here in Australia) with 6.2's and 2:1 V-drives in salt water.
Just hauled it out, sand blasted the underside and re-painted so a very clean and slippery bottom.
Props had been re-pitched at some stage which is why we were struggling to cruise at 16-17 knots at 3600rpm.
Re-pitched the props back to factory standard ie 17" x 19 pitch and cupped and now we sit on 22knots at 3600rpm. In fact running with the tide, which can be pretty strong here, we get the same speed at 3400rpm.
Get your trusty local diver to pull the props and have them pitched to factory as a starting point. It cost me $500 to re-pitch both props so it's a relative inexpensive option. Remember BOAT stands for "Bring Out Another Thousand" :)
PS: our engines and gear boxes have been re-built so we are running at full power.
Hope this helps figure out the problem.

That does help!
I have a lift now, so pulling them is not as big of a deal now.
Thanks again!

If you call searay and give them your HIN # they will tell you what props were on it straight out of the factory when built. Helped me when i was having a similar issue. Bone head PO put on wrong size props

Any chance the boat was originally powered with 7.4's then he repwoered with 6.2's and used the original transmission? Would the originals bolt to the 6.2's ? Would they require the same gear ratio?
