Switch Panel Not Working

I have a 2008 Sundancer 310. The switch panel on the dash (that has the hatch switch on it among others) suddenly stopped working. (See attached photo) All the switches don't work. Interestingly the bilge blower, that has a second switch on the main panel in the salon, still works, but the big problem is the hatch switch. I have tried a replacement panel I managed to find from a 360, but it didn't work either. I have had an electrician check and the panel is getting power. I have been told the problem may be with the EIM. I have been in contact with the people at FP Marine and they offer a replacement for both switch panels on the dash as well as for the EIM for $3700! Seem like a lot. But here is my big problem right now: There are two EIM's one under the dash and another in the bilge. To get to the bilge one, I need to raise the hatch, but the switch is not working. I have had someone use the small access hole under the aft seat to pull the pin on the hydraulic lift, but apparently the hatch weighs over 500 pounds!?! They have managed to wedge it open a few inches and propped it with a 2x4. How can I raise the hatch to get to the second EIM? Help please! Is the hatch that heavy? Is there a better way to raise it?

To open the hatch, there will be a round access plate above each actuator. Through the access plates, you can pull the pins on the actuators. This will make it easier to open, but it is still a matter of brute strength to open it.....

Good luck.

sounds like you need a sling and a chain block if its that heavy

Thanks. I can only find one access plate. I have pulled the pin on that one, but if there is another pin that has not been pulled, maybe that is why it is so difficult to lift? Can you tell me where the two access plate are located?

Get the user manual supplement for your boat if you don’t have a hard copy in your records. I haven’t looked lately, but you should be able to download a pdf copy for your year/model from Searay.com.

From that you can determine if there are one, or two lift cylinders. Then you will know for sure. My guess is if you don’t have two access locations, you don’t have two cylinders. In any event, you have to un pin them because a connected unpowered cylinder is next to impossible to lift.

The owners supplement will also tell you which EIM controls which switchpad, and the wiring diagram will tell you exactly which wires control the cylinder.

There’s another thread here that has pictures (I took) where another member had a failed relay on the bilge EIM. Here’s the thread: http://clubsearay.com/index.php?threads/2009-310-sundancer-engine-hatch-wont-open.97424/

Port access plate is under the aft bench (inside the compartment) and the starboard is in the shore power compartment accessed from the swim platform (aft) side of the transom.

Hi Bill
I am having the exact same problem with my control panel, my mechanic is telling me that this is not made anymore and need to go to an analog system.
Where you able to solve the problem?
You can call me at 954-648-5997
greatly appreciate it

Have you found a solution? I just walked out to check the boat during the hurricane and my bilge pump switch and all those to the right of it aren’t working.

Hi,
A little late to reply, but in case you haven't seen, I offer replacement keypads for the kidney and eyebrow models. Please take a look at www.digitalmarineproducts.com if interested
