I moved from the frozen and over taxed north to Florida in the 80's, boating year round is wonderful. I own one pair of jeans, few dress clothes for days I go to the office or dinner, and one winter coat (sort of), everything else shorts, short sleeves, etc. Add to that no city, county, or state income tax.
Went boat Christmas weekend. It's good here, come on down!

I did CE in Fort Lauderdale a few years ago in Jan. When I left Sunday morning for the airport in shorts and a polo shirt (it was 45 degrees) the doorman at the hotel was in a full length wool coat and ear muffs.

Here are a few pics from our trip taking the boat from here to Seattle last August.
Rough water as we head into the Columbia River Gorge. Gotta Love It!
Side tied to a barge as we go downstream through Bonneville Dam.
The marina at The Dalles, OR. This is an interesting marina when the wind is not blowing. Exciting when it's blowing lightly. HELLISH when it's blowing like it was that day.
Secured to Government Dock, just upstream from Portland, OR. This was our 3rd night out.
4th night, secured to Tom's dock on a slough on the Columbia, near Longview, WA
Holding true to my motto: "Anchor's down, bottoms up!"

Dont be sorry. Went snowmobiling with a group of friends on Saturday. Had an awesome time! I’m looking forward to a long cold snowy winter.

For those of you who hadn't seen those pics before, they're from a 7-day trip down the Columbia to the Pacific (~325 miles) then across the infamous Columbia River Bar. Then we turned north for the longest leg of the trip--232 miles--up the coast of WA where we turned right and cruised to Port Angeles.

Yup! Our boys really feel like big shots,
and they know as long as they operate the machine safely, they are allowed to continue. And my work is easier!
