Smartcraft display move

Finished up yesterday. Put the dash back together and everything works! I was able to fix some shady wiring and repair the bask light strip for the switches while I was in there. I think it’s great that Searay provided a fuse block with extra ports and a common ground bar under the dash. Thanks again for all the input and advise.

Looks great.
I’m looking into a fusion stereo next. I understand they can be controlled by the Garmin chart plotter. I don’t want to replace my speakers, amplifiers or sub woofer just the head unit. I’m actually only doing it so I can have Bluetooth. My current Clarion stereo is hooked to two amps and is two zone (cabin and cockpit). Anyone know of a fusion unit that can do what I need?

Looks great... Go with the 770 fusion unit. Very flexible to do anything you could ever need from multi zones to nema 2k

If you really don’t want to spend money you can get a Bluetooth adapter for the clarion and connect it to the aux on it. That’s what I did before buying a new radio. Just look up Fusion Bluetooth adapter.

I read about that adapter in another post and thought it would be perfect. The problem is my clarion doesn’t have any input ports. Nothing on the front or the back.

What clarion do you have? The stock one has a AUX on the back. Maybe yours is different

I believe it’s the xmd1. The back has two sets of red and white jacks but they both go to separate amps. Which also means they are outs. The only ins are the antenna and the cd changer plugs.

I think it is the CMD series that has the Aux output that @mnm99 is referring to. I have the CMD4 and there is an Aux input on the back and button on the front.

I ended up getting a new stereo. The Fusion MS-RA70NSX. This one has two zones with separate rca connections for each amp. It’s Bluetooth and nema 2000 compatible.
I also bought a nema 2000 starter kit to connect it to the new chart plotter but it seems like it didn’t come with enough t connectors. It has one for the power source and one to connect the chart plotter but not one to connect the stereo. I was thinking about removing one of the end terminator caps and plugging the stereo into the end of the backbone but I don’t think it’s the correct way to hook it up. Has anyone done it that way? Does it work?

Both ends of the NEMA 2000 must have terminator caps to complete the bus. So, you need to buy another T and add it to your current NEMA bus, then hook your stereo to it and move your terminator cap to the end of that. You should add a T every time you want to hook up a new device to your NEMA 2000.

That’s what I thought. The way I was describing seemed like a cheat. Thanks for the information.
I’m going to work on it today. I won’t get it done because I don’t have the third t connection but hopefully get the stereo hooked up.

Good luck, those T junctions are easy to find in marine stores or online.
