I’m interested, just sent you and IMFor me and the previous owner, yes. It was in fresh water part of the Hudson in NY before moving to Lake Keowee in SC.
Interesting... Does anyone else w/ V-drives use them or not? Just bought her and want to do the right thing. Up for suggestions.
Everyone seems to suggest https://greatlakesboattop.com/ You can tell them the make, model, and year of the boat, and they can quote a price for the canvas set for it.
Coincidentally though, I was logging in here tonight to question a recent experience I had with that company.
In early November, we looked at a 1999 310 and we were ready to buy it, pending a successful survey and sea trial. We knew that it would need a full canvas replacement, so I contacted greatlakesboattop to get a quote. The price for everything except the cockpit cover was right around $3,500 (we didn't need any hardware and we were getting an aft curtain instead of a camper top) Unfortunately, some engine issues became evident during the sea trial for this boat, so we backed out of the deal.
In December, we found a 2001 310 that was in great condition, but it too needs new canvas. This boat passed the survey and sea trial with flying covers, so I went back to greatlakesboattop for an updated quote. I assumed that the price for the 2001 would be about the same price as what was quoted for the 1999 because I wasn't aware of any significant difference between the layout of the 2001 and the 1999.
When I got the quote for the 2001, I discovered that it was more than $1,000 higher than what they quoted for the 1999. When I questioned if this might have been a mistake, they said that it was correct and that there was a major redesign to this model Sundancer in 2000.
I never saw the two boats side-by-side, but they were both the same size and I didn't notice any differences in the cockpit, windshield, or radar arch configuration. Am I missing something?
