Just bought a 2021 190SPX SD 200HP and we're picking it up tomorrow! This will be the first boat we've owned. I've already gone over it 2 times in depth and pointed out anything I noticed (small scratch they're repairing and the toggle switches were not perfectly centered and were offset when toggling up/down).

What else should I be looking for?

Look inside all of the compartments, under the dash, in the engine Bay Area for sloppy wiring, unsupported runs, disconnected drain hoses, etc. Turn on everything and make certain it works, do not skip anything.

If motor is closed cooling look at antifreeze bottle. If almost empty there is probably a leak in the system if over full there is probably a leak as they added antifreeze to it.

Just check over every possible system, electric component and mechanical component and make sure everything operates. Take her out for one final sea trial before giving them the money. If something is wrong you will get much better service now before you close then later this spring if you find a warranty type item to be repaired.

Best of luck and post them pictures after you get her! Enjoy.

How exciting! Farewell on your new life ( boating life that is). You will be amazed at how many little things there will be to do to the boat to make it yours. Its a fun journey, I hope it brings you and your family years of wonderful experiences.

Good job on picking a great boat for your first one. As was mentioned above, don't forget that we all like to see pics of everyone's boat.

Oh, and don't forget the boater safety course in your state for you and your wife. Makes both of you more competent and confident on the water.

Congrats, I still remember how excited I was when I bought my first boat, almost 30 years ago. Good luck and enjoy it!

Excited? I can remember when I bought my first boat at the end of January. It was a 20 bowrider. I towed it across the pass in the Cascade Mountains in a blinding snowstorm then got it home and the next day I took it for my first solo ride.

I launched it in a snowstorm and to see I had to unzip the front canvas and stick my head out. That was one of the best winter boat trips ever. Running down the river with my head in the snow, grinning like a fool (which I was), radio blasting, me singing.

Great Day On The Water.

Only issue we had was with the radio headunit. It worked during our first sea trial, but not the one on delivery day. They have it written up and will get a new one ordered up for us. Small issues are the toggle switches for the lights are not perfectly up/down, but thats a simple fix.

The wiring is pretty decent, although I'll likely be tearing into things for fun anyway. I want to add a second battery and split the connections off for house power vs starting. With no voltage gauge I get nervous sitting with the engine off already for 2 hours listening to music.

WOWO, there will be things that pop up from time to time and that's what maintaining a good relationship with your dealer is so valuable.
