OFFICIAL - 450DA Owner's Thread****

It all looks good to me except swim platform. I would want to know where exactly was the elevated moisture on the platform and how much of platform is elevated. It may not be much but I am sure you will check it thoroughly. Good luck. JC
I have the same boat and had the same issue. The repair was all done from the bottom and wasn't the end of the world price wise. Good luck! Also, I replaced the couch and had a filler pad made with folding legs.

Thanks to Frank W, we replaced our stock crappy curtains with Bali 1" wood blinds from blinds.com. I made the mistake of thinking the two master stateroom blinds would be identical and they are not. I called blinds.com yesterday to ask if I could cut off 2" they said no, as they are sending a replacement free of charge under their No-Fault Guarantee !!!View attachment 100070 View attachment 100071 View attachment 100072 View attachment 100073
Those look great! Do they bang around if your in bumpy seas?

For those with the 3126 420hp engines in your 45DA, what props are you running? I assume 4 blade but what diameter, pitch and cup.

Thinking ahead here should my potential boat be over propped.

Another random question. If/when i change the stereo system around, where are the amplifiers located? Is the current location the best place for them, etc?

And what size dock line does everyone use? 5/8" or 3/4" I need 6 for my slip and at probably the same for when i travel.

I don't live in hurricane country so mine are 5/8's and I have one stereo at the helm and in the salon is a volume control with two amps, one at the helm and one in the salon at the volume control with the signal coming from the helm stereo.

Sit in the helm seat.......the power am for the cockpit stereo is under th e helm between your feet....just open t he large hatch under the helm.

I use 3/4" double breaded line on the bow and stern....total of 4. I use 5/8"double beaded lines on the forward spring lines and 1/2" 3 strand nylon nylon lines because of their stretch characteristics on the aft spring lines .....a total of 4 spring lines. We do get some wind here, but we get more boat movement that the lines need to moderate from wakes caused by careless commercial operators and idiot tourists.

Additionally, we also have an equal number of storm lines of the same size as above that are 3 strand twist nylon that we only deploy for storms and storm surges.

More random questions. For those that have replaced the original TV/VCR combo what did you put there? Replace with a modern flat panel smart TV? Trying to think ahead to the fun projects, replacing TVs, upgrading stereo, picking the color of SeaDek flooring, etc.

HELP! ANYBODY OUT THERE THAT HAS REPLACED SALON AC UNIT. . .
I have the 1998 model with galley to Stbd. and the motorized sofa. Anyone know how to get the AC unit out. Have removed all the screws and bolts in the framework over the central vac but vertical piece next to stairs still fastened some way. Has anyone done this? Many thanks

I haven’t removed that unit but after removing the a/c in the bow, I started thinking how I would be able to get to the unit you are asking about. The small dresser/table in the aft cabin appears it can be removed. The a/c is right behind it. I’d look to see what it takes to pull that table out of the way.

GOT IT. . .SALON AC REMOVAL
Finally kept unscrewing and unbolting and finally had to cut a piece, but, removed all the shelving and cabinet above the central vac, (and the central vac), and there was enough room to remove the AC unit. Now for about 4 boat bucks I'll have a reliable AC that I hope will last another 20+ years.
Don't think I'll have to worry about that one.

Hey, we got caught in a rainstorm yesterday and noticed the power vent window is leaking more than it used to... Does anybody have a lead on the seal/gasket for that opening ? TYIA

Any recommendations for insurance for these boats? My smaller boats I'd just call State Farm and didn't think twice about it but this boat may be a different story.

Who do you guys use and a ball park for premium? The 270 SunDeck was about $600/yr and the 340 was about 900/yr. Something tells me the 450 is going to be slightly more expensive!
