48 DA Owners Club

Running the n2k wire this weekend.
Was going to wait to wire it all til I am in the water do I can start the gen and make sure all works as expected. I'm a bit chicken to do it without being able to test it asap.
Plug and pray... it will work out fine.

Like OC said there are no fire sales here. I have been planning to sell the day I bought it and would always consider an offer. However the offer may not be persuasive enough for me to entertain at this time as the price I have in mind is well above the market. That is for a few reasons, most of us enjoy the heck out of the 48 and secondly to get into another boat at this time if you can find one, is gonna cost a premium. I sold my last two boats without advertising them, just word of mouth, so now the word is out.
I'll add a more real-world example to OC's comments. I was recently offered $440k for my boat and I turned it down. It was a great offer but also as OC put it, the people on here that have 48's have the cleanest, well cared for, turn key boats. And JB is right....I didn't sell because I can't find another clean boat in my price range and I'm up to $1M. The 48 is a hard boat to beat.

Quick, dumb question.....Anyone have suggestions on an easy way to get the wiper arms off? I want to paint them as they're faded and need it but with a bit of conson and being pressed on, it's harder than I thought. Thanks!

Spray some lubricant and let it soak for an our or two. Then pull up evenly, you may have to give it a few taps with a small mallet to loosen the grit. The arms sits on a tapered Knurl (see pic) and it becomes seized over time but it can be loosened, just be patient. I replaced both arms and blades with the newer style system ordered thru AM equipment. www.amequipment.com

I might as well buy new arms. Do you have the part number for the ones you ordered? I knew I'd get all kinds of ideas. I tried an old impeller puller I had but couldn't get the right grip on it. Thanks again everyone!

Yeah, I wasn't so lucky on this one. That's why I thought there must be some secret. I'll put more silicone spray and use the battery puller that was suggested. I've been wanting to do this since I bought the boat.

Here is the wiper info from AM Equipment, total cost was around $375. This system uses the J-clip to attach the wiper blades like on a car. My old system used a small bolt and nut, so glad to have done away with that PITA.
I would recommend calling and speaking to their customer service people as they were very helpful. I remember having to make sure they send a left and right side arms.

Standard Duty Double Driver Wiper Arm, Wet, Tapered Knurl Interface
352-0035, 910 mm (36")

Standard Duty Wiper Blades
302-1320, 800 mm (32")

My "original style" wipers flop over. they wouldn't help me diagnose why, but were very happy to sell me new wiper arms at $110 a piece and $55 per wiper

i painted my wiper arms and bought new blades from someone else. It just annoyed me more than anything else.

That was my experience trying to deal with multiple Marinemax locations, they drove me even farther away from ever doing business with them.

That's exactly what my wipers do...they flop all over the place.

I just spoke to them and I mentioned needing a left and a right side. The person told me "with that part number, they're the same". Do you think there's a difference and I need a left and right side? If so, I'd have to call back and get someone else on the phone as she told me to just order from the web.

J clips are the way to go. My screw style wipers would eventually turn sideways and jam into the A pillar. No good...
