48 DA Owners Club

I just spoke to them and I mentioned needing a left and a right side. The person told me "with that part number, they're the same". Do you think there's a difference and I need a left and right side? If so, I'd have to call back and get someone else on the phone as she told me to just order from the web.

Mine look identical, i may call and see if I can just get the J-Clip attachment.

Chroming just arrived. Christmas in March!!!!

Jeffery,
Once you figure it out let me know as I want to order a set... I love the "J-clip" engineering.

My "original style" wipers flop over. they wouldn't help me diagnose why, but were very happy to sell me new wiper arms at $110 a piece and $55 per wiper

i painted my wiper arms and bought new blades from someone else. It just annoyed me more than anything else.
Ok, so this turned into a much bigger job than expected. I used a battery terminal puller and it managed to pull the shaft from the motor on one blade and it pulled the knurled nut off the other 3 shafts. Basically the knurled nuts are frozen inside the wiper blades. I'll try to get them out bt may be easier just to buy new. I should have done this when I was replacing the speakers. Anyone know the part number on the wiper motor? The picture I took months ago isn't clear. Also, any idea if this can be repaired or if I need a new motor? I won't know what it really looks like until I take the motor out.

Yikes.... That looks just like the pivot shaft, but what holds it in? Doesn't look like you damaged the motor. The Knurled tapers are cheap and you should just replace those. When I took mine apart I reassembled everything with anitsieze

Lol...exactly, what holds it in? Guess I'll be pulling the motor and figuring that out. Any input on the motor model number? Damn I wish I would have taken a clearer picture.

You also need to ask them to run the sprayer hose higher up on the arm otherwise it will be located at the bottom of the arm. I had to speak to a second person to get the proper information.

Ok, it was driving me crazy so I had to figure this out. The pivot shaft sheared from the rotating assembly. I hope they sell a replacement or maybe I can send it back to AM and they'll fix it. Also, motor part number is 238-1328 (dbl drive motor assy)

Yep, that's exactly what's gonna happen....AM just emailed me back saying I have to buy the entire motor assembly at $567....That's insane. The damn motor is only $152.

yikes... I am still baffled how you were able to break it using a puller. That should have put downward pressure on that shaft and tab. Doesn't make sense... But oh well what is done is done. No missing material on height so a tac weld from the bottom to fill in the broken pressed in mount and you should be fine.

Yeah I hear ya...I did have the pressure from the puller on it and was taping it with a hammer to try and break it loose...who knows...The weld from the bottom is definitely the way to go. All those years watching my dad weld and do auto body work....Damn, I wish I would have learned how to weld. I'll find someone to do it for cheap.

Jeffery. “How’d you get the beans above the frank”?? Easy fix with a mig. Send it to me I’ll stitch it up for you.

lol...I'll take you up on this! If you want to send me your info, you can email me at jeffrey.vargas@salesforce.com. See guys, this is why the 48 is the best boat out there! Where else can you find a group of people so willing to jump in and help? We'll all need to move into a 55 Sundancer at the same time!
