I replaced my impellers, cool fuel III filters (two per engine) and my serpentine belt. The port side was easy peasy and everything went back on perfectly. The Starboard side of course was a nightmare to remove the alternator. After I got everything replaced and started the engine I noticed that the serpentine belt on the guide pulley (same function I think as the idler pulley but further starboard and down near the alternator pulley) was not completely on the pulley, it was 1/4 inch inside the pulley. I removed the alternator in an attempt to get it on the pulley and that helped a little but the serpentine belt is still not centered on the pulley. Is there a belt adjustment that I'm missing or did I put the spacers in the wrong way?

Thanks for your help and comments.

alt is not correctly installed.there is no need to remove the alt or a pully to replace a belt

Any spacers or left over washers? Look at the other side and compare.

was replacing impellers and fuel filters that require removing alternator to replace so I had to remove serpentine belt.

Thanks everyone. I had one of the pulleys threaded backwards. Checked the other engine for the 5th time and corrected the belt threading

Thanks for everyone's help.
