anyone use flexseal for carpet backing?

Looks like I’ll be doing this soon. My boat had homemade carpets in it, and the Berber was starting to run. I actually traded a guy from the Facebook group for my boat model a bottle of bourbon for his used carpet. Looks flawless from the top but the backing is flaking off.

he put seadek on

figured it was worth gambling a bottle of bourbon and a few cans of flex seal to possibly have nice oem results
C’mon Stray:D That beauty you’ve taken the time to set up perfectly?

Don’t us flexseal. Use durabak smooth. I did it on my boat and 2 friends boats. Much more economical and it will look brand new if you do it neatly. 5 years later still holding up perfect.

Yeah, the carpet that came in the boat was a little sloppily cut and the wrong color.

the ones I bartered for are oem that were used for 2 seasons from an 08 and have been in storage otherwise

the poor dog didn’t know what to do when we took the carpet out this summer :D

Used the Flexseal a few years ago & worked well on our 340 until we were ready to change to the vinyl from Snap In Carpet. Looks like you did a good job. We love the new flooring & very good people to work with.

Lots of big ticket items done in the off season, so cheaping out on the carpet for another season. $125 for a gallon of Flex Seal white? Thought I'd give it a shot. These carpets were bad when we bought it!
