Adorable addition. Congrats!Well the journey has begun. We picked up this 11 week old cockapoo on Saturday. Don’t have a name yet...leaning towards Teddy... as he looks like a Teddy bear.... It was very hard to find a dog no matter the breed without an incredibly inflated price and or a 6-10 month lead time...
My daughter found this guy... and so far he is a trip ...I am not fond of this potty training gong show...but pushing thru. Thanks for all the ideas.
My grandson we sit for during the week..... “never mind the puppy right behind me.... cartoons are on TV”

Ya ...I was fired from going to the vet... I was telling them how they could make the process better without a visit every month...they didn’t like it... when I told my wife she fired me...she said he is the best vet around and I was just going to piss him off.....works for meA high quality dog food makes potty training easier and lowers cost at stores and the vet. When we got our puppy (Jiggy), we used regular dog food, he was eating a lot, pooping 3-4 times a day, often in the house because he was still learning. We learned the regular food has a lot of "fillers" in it, junk that just passes through them.
Switched to high quality food, within 2 days he was eating 50% less, not acting hungry and pooping 1-2x daily.
It's been 11 years now, his only bills have been yearly shots, 1x dental surgery, one $45 bag of food lasts 2-3 months. Feeding him Blue Buffalo Basics Limited Ingredients, https://bluebuffalo.com/natural-dog-food/basics/
Re: vets, they upsell a lot of unnecessary shots, etc. some of which do more harm than good. Vets are not gods, a little knowledge and saying "no" saves a lot of $$ and will keep your friend healthy. In fact, I find it fun to say "no" and watch the vet look stunned!
Here's Jiggy, he's a rescue, appears to be a Yorkie, his favorite activities are boating and truck rides to twistee treat for a doggy ice cream. Any hint of going to the truck or boat, he's goes crazy!

30-4So the score is... 24-4 ?
Yup...reason #1,274 why I have no use for a furry friend. I just don't get the desire to have something to take care of day in and day out. Anytime you want to do something, the first consideration is what to do with the animal vs. go and do it. Beyond that, there's always that one yipping, yapping, barking dog in the marina that really misses it's owner while he's out and about. Annoying to say the least. Not one of you guys said anything about potty training and 3:00 in the morning outside pee breaks at below freezing..... not one of you said anything about vet visits and bills.... I took Teddy today to the vet and it was like satan possessed Teddy ...a real evil scream came out of him when the vet touched his mouth and he pissed all over him as he clamped down on the docs hand...now picture a 7.5lb fur ball intimidating a vet.. I have to admit it was kinda funny later but at the time frightening ....I now see why boaters like dogs...we need more stuff to throw money at
oh shit forgot ...not one of you guys told me about these big box pet stores... holy crap I would rather be in west marine it would be cheaper... after Teddy puked in the car outside the super store ...I brought him in...no sooner put him on the floor on a leash and started walking...and some guy gives me a dirty look.... I thought wtf...turn around and Teddy is sitting up with his brakes on and I am dragging him on his butt with his paws out front....made me chuckle...can’t feel brakes from walking
I am with you 100%... there is nothing worse then a yappy barking dog on a boat.... but I tend to blame the owner not the dogYup...reason #1,274 why I have no use for a furry friend. We had a parrot on the next boat at a transient slip. It was awful... I couldn’t understand how or why you would want to put up with that and the messThere’s a boat in our marina that has three parrots, I’d take a barking dog any day. Wonder if they make chirping collars for birds?
This boat does charters, part of the entertainment package I guess. White cockatoo sits on captain shoulder, the main act!We had a parrot on the next boat at a transient slip. It was awful... I couldn’t understand how or why you would want to put up with that and the mess
