Hi guys,

Im looking for options to camp on my Sundeck 200 for one night only. We did it last year just using the bow and cockpit covers and while works we will like more room at least to stand up and use a porta potty without have bend while walk.

For the bow I've found online the the tent kit that while looks nice my kids are little I may keep using the bow cover for now or I even have an idea to make like a cover that I can put higher, but for the cockpit the only I've found and we like is the "Camper top".

While I keep doing research of where I can buy the whole thing (frame, etc, no much luck yet) I wonder how hard/easy is to put on or remove meaning that I am going to be in the water trying to put the thing and the next morning trying to remove it. Considering that the bimini top is going to stay installed is there a lot of parts I will have to figure where to store a big bulk of stuff?

Something Im looking to do as well and I don't know if someone done it before is to remove the captain seat and put a fishing/standup seat, I NEVER drive seated and that seat takes A LOT of space that when you are spending the night in the boat is very useful. Something I can easily roll back to the factory seat if I want to, so I am looking to leave the factory seat base installed.

I will appreciate any advice.

I can't answer your question, but have been thinking of the same thing. With the wide bow, it's almost like the base of a tent. I wonder if you could use a tent setup, remove the floor, and add snaps to match the boat? You could use the pop-up type of bows to make it taller.

Trying to think outside the box... and something like this could be done for a low cost of entry. Like this kind of thing... https://www.amazon.com/Pop-up-Automatic-Instant-Portable-Cabana/dp/B079DZ21C4/?tag=mountainleo00-20

For that matter, maybe you could get a slightly smaller one, and it could be set up right inside the bow, on top of the filler cushions?

That looks good, but I think I may have to go in the water to tie the straps around the keel (or whatever is called). Have to be something pretty snug because with the wind gusts we get in CO I dont want to have to wake up in the middle of the night to grab the thing from the water :) I have to measure the width of the cockpit of my 200 to see if it fits because I bet is going to be way cheaper than the Camper top.

Reviving this old thread.

We bought new canvas for our 2007 240 Sundeck and optioned for the full camper inclosure. We live in Seattle and have been able to comfortably boat all winter. It’s easy enough to to put up and take down each piece as needed.
We are looking into a bow tent like enclosure for summer camping also.

I grow tired of dealing with just the few pieces of canvas I have. It's all relative but I like things to be easy :)

Taking the canvas down is only half of it. Finding a place to put it, safely, is an entirely different and equally frustrating experience if you have more than two bodies onboard. Particularly if any of those bodies takes the form of a child...or three...

But those 3 are damn cute, and getting old enough to help!

Stee,

I have triplet daughters that turned 26 in October and they all love being on the water. They tend the lines when we dock and most weekends when more than one of them are with us they wash and put up the canvas while I’m visiting neighbors on the dock. I do have to say that this is not the case with most of my friends kids though.

We have jetboat it has full canvas over all interior area you can stand in. Last summer we did a river and rained every day except for the first day. We slept and cooked on the boat. It was very small but dry. You are correct you need to stand up in the boat. It was like a big tent that you could not leave. Make sure you can trailer the boat with the canvas up. This way you will know it will withstand any storms and winds you encounter on the water.
