48 DA Owners Club

Thanks guys. So Shaps, do you replace the clamp with the PEX type which needs the special clamping tool or just a regular hose band clamp?
So I have done about every connector on the boat so far and these are my tips.
1. don't just cut off the connector and lose an inch of hose as some locations you will have issues as it is tight
2. you don't need new connectors, the issue is the crimp they are weak
3. get a dremel tool with a nice cut off wheel and ever so slightly just cut a line into the old crimp flange, don't go deep just enough to cut through the brass and not damage the hose too much. use a couple of needle nose plyers to break off the remaining clamp flange, super simple.
4. use a heat gun to heat up the hose, slide out the fitting, apply a little more heat to the inside of the hose to soften it up, put on a good marine approved hose clamp and slide back in the barbed fitting, tighten while warm and you should have a great seal.

Like I said they all have to be done, I started on my manifold and did all of them in a couple of hours. It is on a page in this thread somewhere.

Love it also but I want to move mine back also, it is just too cramped for me, 2-3 inches would sure be nice as even with the sliders all the way back I barely fit.
Grant I used a different approach to raising the seats . I made a box with the front and rear of box open . The box mimics the flat plate under the seat . The plate has slotted holes so you can mount box further back to achieve the extra room needed . Hope this gives another option for you .

Thank you Grant. You are right about losing an inch if you just cut it off. Most of my hoses at tight already.

Can you tell me what wifi booster you used? I nee to add one on my 46 DA. Thanks.

It is the shakespeare stream wireless booster with the at&t 5G hot spot.

Does anyone have any info where to locate the OEM Cantalupi “Tebe” overhead lights for the salon and bedrooms?

thanks
JB

Yes that is the correct light however I am looking for them in brass. So now I will have to find a similar type light for replacement.

thanks

Grant, haven't figured out how to post pictures and have no kids to do it for me. I would gladly send you pictures and idea for you to modify my design that's quick easy and will get you 3 inches extra room on top of hieght. If there another way to get photos to you I will gladly.

Have a great season! See you out there. I’m still waiting for the winter tides to be done, so low at low tide!

I made sure they splashed me near high tide. I'm definitely going to be cautious.
See you out there!

Glad to see you back in the water....

Hi, I just signed up and just got a 48. I was wondering if anyone has installed a bimini top from hardtop to stern and the best recommendations.
Thanks

Welcome to the board and congrats on your 48 DA, great boat! I hope you enjoy it as much as we do. I do have a bimini, it was factory installed. I can post a pic later today or tomorrow.
