Hi everyone. Glad I found this website. I needed some guidance. I completely restored a 1979 SRV240 Hardtop over this last year. It has been a huge project! I love this boat! I wasn't sure about a yellow boat, but man do I like this boat! We had to re-power the boat, I painted every surface that once had carpet, and replaced all the electrical as well and then there was the upholstery. A full restoration. Let me know what you think....

That is really nice. Tell me more what you mean about painted every surface that had carpet. I like the upgrade look. I got a 91 and they put felt/carpet on vbunk walls, like paneling in the 80’s. Give me details what/how you did it. Sorry for long post, I see no carpet between v bunk cushions at bottom of pic. I asked my upholstery guy about replacing carpet with that fake teak stuff, he said said expensive mostly because getting the old glued carpet is a labor intensive costly process. Details?

Hi Pirate Lady. My boat had carpet that covered the inside walls of the deck area, and then it had "fur" like the fake fleece that is on the inside of an old denim jacket covering the walls and ceiling in the cudy cabin. We stripped off all the coverings and I painted the walls with spay on bed liner. There is a company in Florida called "GRIZZLY GRIP" and they will color match Dunn- Edwards paint. We picked a color that matched a clean patch of gel coat and that is what we used. I lightly sanded the walls and ceiling to knock down the really high spots and then wiped the whole inside down with acetone. I then rolled on the bed liner material. 2 coats covers really well. This stuff is tuff too. I really like the material. I wear a breathing apparatus at work and I'm glad I had access to one. The fumes are pretty strong! I will include some pictures... It took me about 5 days to do the whole boat. I have lots more pictures, I can upload more when I'm home.
