Yes, I was one who said, Just wait all this water will slowly go back down. What I meant was years. Yesterday the measurement at the marina fuel dock showed 24" down from last fall. Some of this I'm sure can be from a seiche witch occurs in large bodies of water such as the Great Lakes. Our non ocean tide. We are in floating docks so it does not affect us. Hoping this means the towns with fixed docks are back to normal. Has anyone heard?

I'm on a fixed dock and yes, it's much much better than last year so far. We're still technically above average but certainly trending in the right direction. We'll be complaining about low water in no time.

I've been able to reduce my dockside stairs from 4 steps to 3 for this year. Life changing stuff... :)

Less snow. Warm winter. Little ice cover. Less water going into the lakes. Above average evaporation during the winter due to lack of ice cover. Drought in the spring. Water drops rapidly. That sums it up.

You really notice how fast things can change when you live on a lake connected to Lake Michigan for 43 years. We have seen the record low and two record highs and everything in between. All you can do is make sure your dock and sea walls are high enough for the highest water. We were fortunate to have never had a year when the boat did not work in the slip, even with the record lows.

Going up the Milwaukee River we were used to seeing the restaurants and bars having several 4" pvc drain pipes blasting the water out. Pipes are gone! Hope their businesses get back to some sense of normalcy.
