Chicago Scene Boat Party 2021

Are those foam things news or have they been around? I see them all over the place all of a sudden! I'd get one in a second but the Admiral is afraid of sharks (seen Jaws) :eek:

Called “Lilly Pads” and they’ve been around for a few years. A bit pricey and a PIA to transport but the kids love them.

I’ve been to this before. The answer is: A LOT. It was interesting to see the mix of boats and people. Now that I’m a little older, I don’t think I’d want that many people walking over my boat to the next one. I’ll bet a diver could find a TON of things under there after.

I don’t think I would enjoy being tied up in those huge rafts with total strangers boarding my boat constantly.

If one wants to see girls in bikinis there are plenty of beaches to do that.
 
In fact, the last time I was there, we were rafted up among a bunch of upper 20-30’ boats and a very intoxicated young lady got caught rummaging through the cabin of the boat next to us. She almost got thrown in the water by the wife who was on that boat but she ended up basically crawling onto the boat I was on and I didn’t want her on it but also was a little nervous about where she would fall or worse if she kept going further down the line of boats. Eventually she did get moving but we were watching to make sure she wasn’t touching anything of ours.

I have been to a few....pretty much a nightmare if you are OCD like I am. The best thing that I always did was tie up with at least two of my friends boats on either side of me. Most of them didn't care that much if a random tied up next to them.
 
I love these parties because it's really fun and there are many cool people. I even met my current girlfriend there! At that time, I didn't understand such parties and was looking for online articles like https://boatcrunch.com/what-to-wear-to-a-boat-party-at-night/ to know what to wear to such parties. My friends often went there, and I also became interested in going there at least once in my life, and then it really dragged me, and I even found a girl there. Unfortunately, it was difficult and scary to go to such parties during the pandemic, but I still attend them, and I hope that everything will return to normal ASAP.
