I have a 2007 32’ DA and whenever I clean out my sump pump (located directly under the last step down to the salon), I notice clean water surrounding the bilge pump which is located right behind the sump pump box. Has anyone who has experienced this issue been able to figure out where that water is coming from?

Check the pan under your salon air conditioner to see if it is full of water thus overflowing. The drain tube could be clogged.

I had an intermittent sump pump that caused this. When showering (or with the AC running) occasionally the float/pump would not activate and the sump box would overflow into the surrounding bilge. New floats/pumps solved my problem...

Same here. If I opened the sump box and operated the float manually, it would pump out the box no problem on multiple ocsasions. But all it took was an afternoon of running the AC and if the pump didn't turn on, the box would overflow in no time.

It turned out to be a bad float. I also broke the blue piece that holds the pump in place and the pump didn't work as well when it wasn't clamped down.

Now it's dry and I haven't had a problem since.

Around the same time I had water in the aft cabin but it turned out to be a window that wasn't sealing well enough. The windows lines up with the fwd bilge and I thought it could be from the window but it was just from the bad float.

Thanks. I had not thought of the pan under the AC. I did empty out all the water in my forward bilge area and then went on a day trip. There was water (fresh) in the forward bilge even though I had not used the AC/central heating unit nor did I take a shower (utilizing the sump pump). While the boat is in the boathouse, I think I will use each system one at a time and see if I can locate the source of the problem through process of elimination. Thanks again!
