Tomorrow we are FINALLY taking a trip to Tolchester tomorrow. We were headed there June 5 when it overheated. The Shanty bar closes Sunday for the season. Jellyfish Joels at Fairlee is already closed for the summer. We tried going last Sunday but the chop was too uncomfortable for the wife. Looking forward to this.

Have a great trip! Enjoy!
(Mine's already out and on the hard :( )

Some of the best boating of the year is now. Unless by “boating” you mean “sitting at a tiki bar”, in which case you’re right, it’s over. Lol

Sitting right now at Shanty bar Tolchester. Packed, no place to sit. Got here early, best seats, last weekend open. Gorgeous day, band rockin, dont get better.

Coming home from Tolchester about 6pm yesterday We encountered the most surreal scene i ever seen.
Approaching the top of Hart island, water table flat, there was not another boat as far as we could see in every direction. Now I know that sounds impossible on a busy bay but i swear its true. Very strange, but very cool.

Nope. Not strange at all. We routinely end our weekends coming home late in the day as the sun is waning. Everyone else is already done for the day and the Bay is all ours. It’s wonderful!

We left out of St Mich's and went to shaw bay just inside the wye, and caught the Ravens game at anchor. No one was there at all. What a great afternoon.

Jim, you serious? Forecast for MD is 60s thru November. Last year i pulled November 20, may get a couple extra weeks this year. Where you?
We boat Summersville Lake which feeds the white water rafting attraction in the Gauley River. The lake has already dropped 10 feet or so from the scheduled weekend releases. We get 5 months of boating... mid April to mid September.

Are you within an hour of the Potomac, James, Rappahonack? Gives access to the bay, greatly extends your season and boating destinations. Sitting at a tiki bar, boat on their pier as i right this.

Although access to the bay (and coast) is enticing, my boat is about 5 hours from the James River (Petersburg). Too far to tow an oversized boat.

As mentioned previously, we are on a Southern Bay trip this week, and are currently in the Portsmouth/Norfolk area. Today, we took a boat tour of the Naval Base and the Harry S. Truman was leaving port!!!! It was AMAZING to see an aircraft carrier entering the channel. Later today, we spoke with some people who were coming in to Portsmouth and had to "wait" til the HST cleared. How cool is that?!?
