Rittenhouse case

Here's the simple and obvious answer: 17 year old Rittenhouse was not a police officer, a fire-fighter or an EMT. He did not have to be there. He deliberately chose to be in a place no thinking person would go. He was armed and went looking for trouble.
Not that I want to be dragged into this argument as I've learned that ignorance is bliss & internet arguments never change peoples minds. But, going by your logic, Rittenhouse had just as much of a right to be there as the first victim since his family lived there and more of a right than the other two lead recipients as it seems they traveled as much or more than he did to go there and destroy property.

I can't help but wonder...where's your criticism of the 1,000+ rioters that deliberately chose to be there, they deliberately chose to tear up, set fire to their city like idiots...even a dog knows not to shit in his own bed. Is it really a surprise that a man who spent the majority of his adult life in prison for violent crimes, Joseph Rosenbaum, might participate in rioting. Rosenbaum's penchant for violence was such that even while in prison he was making weapons and attacking prison guards. Rosenbaum was the spark that that ignited the shootings of that night..one could find some humor in that not long before he was bellowing 'shoot me nigger, shoot me nigger.'

It's absurd that he be portrayed a victim, especially a man that had victimized so many himself...like the young boys and their butts that he also had a penchant for.

Why, because of the memories of the incident- it could be a constant reminder.
Rusty, when I was done with the hearings following my shooting the psychiatrist I was required to see asked me if there was anything else bothering me.

I replied that I wanted to get my service revolver back.

He replied "well I think that is rather morbid. Why would you want that gun back."

To which I said "This is something you probably would not understand because you do what you do and I do what I do. That gun is a tool that saved my life. It worked when I needed it to work. I don't hold that gun in anything but admiration for the fact that it saved my life."

He started to see my point and said he would talk to the chief to see that it happened.

I can see Kyle feeling the same way.

Woody,
Many of the people involved in the riots were not from Kenosha. People were bused in and the police did stop groups from entering the city as they got off the interstate.

What is the world coming too where you can’t riot, destroy private and public property and assault people, without them protecting themselves and their property?

Interesting you don't think the three aholes who got shot weren't there looking for trouble? They where part of the mob tearing the town apart.

The police officers, fire fighters and EMTs where told to stand down. They where not there to protect the Kenosha citizenry from the outsiders who where tearing up the town. If the pros aren't going to provide the protection then ordinary citizens are going to provide it. And that's what happed.

You want to prevent these incidents. Start holding the rioters accountable. Use the police and national guard to maintain order. Then kids like Kyle won't be compelled to take action.
Why not continue to put words in my mouth?
When professionals stand back it is for good reason. The vacuum is filled by idiots. Cameras are everywhere and perps are dealt with later. Smart enforcement will not further inflame an already volatile situation.

I still can’t find where Rittenhouse said, “I went there looking for trouble”, in his testimony. Maybe you can help @Juliery seeing that was your claim.

You were in Kenosha?
I am an avid student of WW 2 history, as well but I was not there, either. Many of the minds here would never do well at skydiving. Parachutes, like good minds, function best when open. Many of the tribal rebuttals have entirely avoided evidence and facts but certainly not silly assumptions and juvenile and emotional responses.

The facts (evidence) were on film sir, self defense period. Its unreal this even went to trial. Unreal you are claiming to be a WW2 buff when you cannot understand what happen last year. Even with all the live footage thats been shown. No doubt you are a scholar.
Maybe you should open your parachute and see if it helps your mind open up to the facts.

What rioters from last summer have been dealt with?
Does anyone here actually read?
Months ago, Kenosha Police Chief Miskinis said 49 adults and six minors were facing charges after the Kenosha riots. Charges include arson, burglary, possession of a firearm or ammunition by a convicted felon, criminal damage and disorderly conduct. He said 35 of those charged are Kenosha residents. The tally did not include Rittenhouse.

"rioters from last summer" - plenty of cities where rioters face zero charges...

You have convinced me:
Nothing in this world is more dangerous than the sincerely ignorant and the conscientiously stupid. The greatest enemy of knowledge has never been ignorance, it is the false illusion of having knowledge and the intelligence necessary to process it.

You mean like a Canadian trying to be an expert on US self defense laws? You and @Creekwood are really trying hard to be experts on things in the US...without being in the US...
