So, lets talk weather....

Crazy weather. It was record warmth coming south. We left western NY a week ago Thursday and could have de-winterized the trailer before leaving. Central NJ for Christmas with our daughter for 4 days- 40’s and 50’s. Charleston for 2 days- 80’s, record warmth. Brunswick GA for 2 days, 80’s on St Simon Island last night. (What a party, those folks love their Bulldogs)
West coast of FL today, near 80 again. Closer to normal looking ahead.
Got no complaints.

Average low for this time of year is 24 degrees. Snowblower has already been out three times. That's three times more than the last two years.

Just got done snowblowing and walking the dog. We have about 4ish inches with the bottom wet. I'm sure they'll be reporting about some heart attacks today. Single digit lows coming. Really missing Bradenton right now.....

We had 3” of snow and 19 degrees this morning at 8:00am. Sun is trying to come out.

Where do you live Jim? We are 45 min NE of Atl in Flowery Branch. No bad weather yesterday, but same for here today and Monday. 72* currently with the threat of some bad weather tonight.

Bennett,
We in a little town south of Covington called Newborn, one flashing light. The tornado hit in Covington on Browns Bridge Rd at the chik fillet 10 miles or so from home. One car with driver was literally thrown around the parking lot, but not injured thankfully.

I think we are looking at 30 in the morn...I miss The Office, have spent the weekend on a rental remodel, fun, fun.

Bennett

After a very warm holiday week, it's in the 20s with light snow in Central NY.

Power went out inexplicably at 10:30 this morning. It's getting chilly in here.

Jim and Bennett, I am experiencing the same weather as you are. I am in between you. Clarks Hill lake, GA. We tied a record high yesterday.

ATTENTION ALABAMA RESIDENTS
Winter will be held this Sunday, Monday and Tuesday ONLY! We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause. Thank you for participating in this annual 3 day event.

We will take all your snow and rain here in the Intermountain west. Lots of rivers , lakes to fill from the drought the last ten years.
It sounds like the western slope of Colorado is getting a lot of snow. Hopefully it keeps snowing.
Powell needs the water really bad.

Yes it is off to a good start... I just hope they keep getting snow for the next 60 days like they have the past two week.
With the snowpack right now on the western slope it will only bring around 30 feet of run off to the lake in the spring and even though that will be welcomed it will not be enough to insure good lake levels in 2023. What we really need are back to back storms on the western slope of CO and on the west side of the continental divide in Wyoming and the temps to stay low to keep as much snowpack in the mountains as long as it can before April/May run off.
As of this last weekend we have 32ft under our slip. Bullfrog bay in some areas are down to about 15ft.

On a good water year we usually have around 80 ft under our slip at this time of year.

Park services and Airmark will decide in February if they will be moving all of Bullfrog slips, fuel dock, boat rentals, and pump out over to the Halls Crossing side of the lake. This will be a big undertaking and us at BullFrog dont want the move to happen as if the ferry is not back in operation it will add 1.5hour drive for us all.

I couldn't find any real time images of the bay. The first picture shows Bullfrog marina in the background and Halls Crossing in the foreground. This picture is of the elevation of the lake probably 80 ft up from real time today. The 2nd picture is a little more real time. What you cant see is that the average depth of Bullfrog bay is around 20 feet. Our slip is on the far end of all the slips and right now we are 100 yards from the land on the left side of the top picture.

Here in lower southern Maryland, yesterday 63 and a bit overcast. Broke out the snow blower and shovels from the storage barn wearing shorts, a T shirt and flip flops. Today - 29 and snowing. 6 inches so far headed to 19 degrees.

Wave, we're in the twilight zone for sure compared to norm, I was happy to see 39 this morning, but colder coming me thinks. "Winter" hits here worse in Jan/Feb as you know.
