Hello all,

Noticed one of engine mounts is getting badly rusted. See photo. ( bad one and good one) There is a hose above it that may have been leaking / loose 20220220_110217.jpg 20220220_110233.jpg at one time. Wondering how to protect this from getting worse. Maybe wire brush and coating with anti seize lubricant? Any other suggestions that may work better?

Thanks in advance!

Looking at the picture I can't tell if it's just surface rust. If it is, assuming the leak above it has been repaired, wire brush it, prep it and paint it.

Boat is a 2020. Not sure if the engine would need to be lifted up to replace it??? Seems like surface rust.

Put a wire brush on it, manual or with a drill, see what's below it. My guess is it's just surface rust. Make sure you resolved the leak above it though.

Fix it then spray the mounts with Corrosion X annually. My mounts still look new on a 10 year old saltwater boat. Works great on bronze strainers too.
