Hey guys,
I have a '97 330 DA with twin 454's carbed. My sync gauge took a crap a few years back & it wasn't a big deal but I did have my mechanic replace the gauge. That didn't fix it & after further research I found there was a module behind the dash. My mechanic never ordered it nor did I & it is now unavailable. So my question is, is there another system that I can replace it with? I am trying to wrap up some of these little annoying issues one at a time. TIA

I searched for the diesel one once and couldn’t find it. But did find the gas version at Overtons.

Thanks. I looked there & did not find it. I'm pretty sure it's time to update, if thats possible.

I'm guessing that this is not an easy fix? The teleflex tachs are so unreliable that they are basically useless for syncing the motors. I do it by ear but, as my tinnitus & hearing loss get worse I don't have much faith in that system anymore either. Lol

I believe the Veritron sync gages do not require an external module, but I would check with them to make sure. Just need to get the correct gage size and wire in the port and starboard tach signals. Faria also sells a sync gage / module combo that would probably work.

Thank you! I will look them up. I did see the Faria one that you mention but, it said "Pods" in the title & I did not know if it was for boats with pods. Lol
I am really uneducated in this area of electronics in case it wasn't already evident. Haha

For some reason a sync gage has been a very hard find for me. I had a small guest module with red and green lights that crapped out. Nothing like it anymore and the gages have been hard to figure out. I thought about doing digital tachs.

I've had that same thought. Maybe wired to an MFD. But, still need to do some homework. I was hoping someone else had this experience & had a proven work around.

Well for $40 might be worth giving this a try as a replacement. I’ve measured the output of the factory module before and it takes the tach pulses and converts them to a DC voltage that it sends to the gauge.

Thanks, I looked at that. It says its for diesel and has a funky plug on the back vs the posts & nuts on the teleflex pod. Idk if it would work & I wouldn't know how to wire it.

There is a gas version. Part number ends in 01 rather than 02. I’m sure we all can figure out the wiring with you.
