Man sentenced in killing of Caltrans worker along Interstate 80 in Vacaville (msn.com)
This piece of excrement gets 8 years of which he will likely do 4 of unless there is another covid surge and then he will will just walk.

A felon in possession of heroin, no license, drunk and committed hit and run resulting in the death of a Cal Trans worker while speeding through a large well publicized construction area.
This A hole should do thirty years hard labor in my book.
This construction area is about 15 miles long and will be underway for 3 years to widen lanes of !-80 between our town and the next two towards San Francisco. This is some of the most congested roadway at peak hours in our region with no construction. There are lighted 55 MPH signs everywhere but traffic regularly flows at 75 with the standard A holes weaving past at 90+ but rarely do you see CHP officers enforcing the speed limits even after this hit and run. Makes me sick to my stomach. The worker that was hit was a single mother just doing her job and paying her taxes!

Remember a few years ago when they were letting felons out of jail due to COVID risk? We were all locked down. Do you think convicted felons will obey the stay at home rule? The best place for them was in jail. They were segregated from the rest of society.
