Tropical Storm Ian Prediction as of 0200 EDT.

Unfortunately this is looking real bad for that area. We had a couple of tornados last night less than a mile from the house here but nothing bad. Sure looks like a lot of people did not evacuate their boats over there. Crazy to see full marinas of boats.

On a side note I would pay money to watch Jim Cantore take a coconut to the head a 100 mph

For us, it is only a house which is insured.
We are safe here in Barrie Ont, not there.
Wishing all our American Friends best of luck and stay safe.

Nice to see a fellow Barrie member on here. Although I dislike living here lol... becoming Toronto real quickly.

Looks like some nice weather coming up for the last week of boating!

Stay safe southern folks.

First videos being released are not good: houses floating by, boats floating by, roofs, cars, etc.

Water level is up quite a bit here in Merritt Island - lapping over the decking of my dock behind the house. Marina turned power off at 3 today. I think we will see the butt of it all starting around 4 or 5 AM. Surf at Cape Canaveral will be in the range of 20 feet high in the morning; might have to go and see that. I'll go get the boat's generator up and running daylight. Light rain here now at 2000 with winds around 20 mph

I am getting pics from people we know in the Ft Myers/ Ft Myers Beach/Cape Coral area.
Incredible destruction. Water up to the second floor of the townhouses we rented there for a few years. Pics of total marina destruction etc. Hopefully all are safe.

Yeah, Sanibel and Captiva are completely under water.

In Palm Coast (Between Daytona and St Augustine)..currently 0700hrs, gust to 65mph, horizontal rain, water is at least 1.5" over my dock on a falling tide. I am a Hurricane Andrew veteran so I didnt rely on cleats or pilings on my dock but instead I installed two giant (8' long) galvanized steel earth augers (the kind power line companies use to brace power poles) in my backyard and I run two 1" mega braid lines with chafe gear to the bow and stern.

They are drum tight right now holding the boat to the dock.....

Best of luck over the next 12+ hours.

We have some friends which rode out in the storm in Venice, slightly west of 75. They are fine. Had some power outages, but ok.

It sure seems like all the lead up to this storm was focused on only Tampa. Not even a mention of Fort Meyers until very late? Looks pretty awful for those guys...
