Not sure this belongs here but I thought I would post this somewhere it stood a chance of being seen a week from now.

Anyway Navionics has a live chart site so you can view there charts online. It is a nice way to arm chair captain your next trip. I subscribe to there phone app so I am not sure as too what features are actually free. But I know basic viewing is. So for those that are not aware of this here is a link:

Garmin's Active Captain online is also free. I like it for checking out reviews from other boaters (marinas and fuel docks). It's far easier to read and manage that kind of content from a desktop vs a tablet or chartplotter.

I forgot about that one. I don't like Active Captain that much even though I am all Garmin. I happen to like the Navionics charts the best however. That link I posted works on any device or PC with a web browser.

Thanks for posting the AC link as well.

Thanks for the links.

I use Active Captain but also like Navionics. I’m also all Garmin and thought about upgrading my charts to Navionics but only my 8612 supports it so I would still need to run Bluechart G3 on my 942.

Love navionics and that it can been in sync on all devices like iphone/ipad/chartplotters/desktop browser, etc. I wish my Axiom+ would stay in sync automatically, but I'm ok doing the manual sync once in a while.

I am all Garmin and they now own Navionics, but do not support it in the same was Raymarine does. I wish Garmin would get on their own band wagon.

It really is odd that these plotters can't just sync up with their wifi capabilities and such. It's a silly process to upload everything once in a while.

They should but Garmin doesn't even allow you to connect to your own wifi, they have to be the source. Makes no sense, but for them it's probably so they don't have to worry about getting hacked and such.
