We just received this new video of the 400 Fly today.

The AutoStep™ integrated into the swim platform (first introduced on the 400 Sundancer) is one of the slickest designs we've come up with in a while.

Folks tend to have a strong preference for the boat either with or without the hardtop; you can see both on the web page for the 400 Fly: http://www2.searay.com/CSR400Fly

Well done as usual Matt! That model is growing on me even more. The steps are cool unless you carry a tender. Can they be disabled while carrying?

I was hoping to view one at the Vancouver Boat Show but alas, they didn't bring one in. Too bad might of considered trading up!

Can I just buy the hardtop and slap it on my 400DB and save seven digits? Too bad they didn't put the master midship that I can see.

Absolutely! That's part of what makes the design so slick; one simple pin to pull and the steps stay flat and flush within the platform. When you arrive at an anchorage with a dinghy, drop the platform, offload the dinghy, re-raise the platform, replace the pin and AutoStep is activated. Simple, fast and robust. They didn't get "cute" with it or overthink it. It just works.

Sweet! I need to see one when Sun Country gets one in Oakland...

Nice looking boat. I'm not sure why but I like the interior better than on some of the models from the past few years.

Saw it at the NY Boat show. Loved everything about the interior. Especially the way it flowed in to the cockpit.
could definitely see it as a great choice for spending time on the hook, at the dock, or underway with a group of friends.
But I didn't care for the flybridge on the boat, or the steps going up to it.
The bridge itself seemed to look like an afterthought, and the steps up to it were not comfortable to go up or down.
It was prominently displayed, so we kept looking back to it during the day/evening.
I generally love the lines on bridge boats, but couldn't wrap my head around this one.
That being said: The boat without the bridge is nothing short of awesome.

Seven digits?!?! I know new boats are expensive but the only people paying seven figures for this boat have six figures of negative equity on their trade in. ; )

Too bad they didn't put the master midship that I can see.

The full beam midship stateroom is a big step forward for a 40' boat, but it still doesn't have the head room of the forward berth. The midship stateroom is available with three bunks or two bunks and a large dresser. In either configuration two of the bunks can be combined to make a queen berth. Based on our experience with the Meridian Yachts 441, some people will take the full beam midship with queen bed and water level windows and use it as the master. Personal preference, I guess.

(Oh, And I'm sorry there wasn't one in Vancouver. They're in pretty short supply. If you're really interested, PM me and let's see if we can get you to Miami in two weeks.)

Thank you for visiting our display at the NYBS! I think this is fair feedback. I spent a good bit of time on this boat at the NY show. There were a few things that were "off" on that particular example, like the flybridge table having the L650 Fly legs, making it way too tall and throwing off proportions. And the steps are steep.

Several folks who really like the 400 Sundancer ended up buying a non-hardtop 400 Fly as a sort of a giant sky/sun lounge. I can see that. Either way, the boat was well received there. We sold four or five at that show alone.

I think that it's perfect! Everything! Mrs. Strypes and I are seriously looking into checking one out. Maybe Marine Max will have one, there is a dealer right next to our marina. Sorry, no time to make it to Miami anytime soon! We asked for a quote direct from Sea Ray, but haven't heard back yet.

There wasn't a 400 Fly at the Cleveland show, but there was a 400 Sundancer... we didn't wait in the line to see it since we'll only consider boats with fly-bridges!

Good job Sea Ray!
Still want!

Thanks for all the kind words, Strypes! As I mentioned, the 400 Fly is still in pretty limited supply; many of the first models delivered to dealers have already been purchased and orders for build slots continued to come in. There just aren't a lot in stock, even for boat shows. Even the boat we had slated for the Miami show was sold to a customer who had to have it right away so we had to scramble!

Anyway, the MSRP pricing is available on the link I posted at the beginning of this post. I'm certain that authorized Sea Ray dealers can come up with a more compelling price for you, but unfortunately we can't. Any price negotiation would have to occur at the retail (dealer) level.

Even so, we'd love to earn your business. PM me if you run into any showstoppers in your search.

I must of been thinking of it to Canuck dollars then! I couldn't find the MSRP on the link but no worries, we are still in the honeymoon stage with our 400DB, so I must stay away from temptation for now but thanks for the offer! I'm sure Bob @ M&P will have one up here soon enough to entice me with! Looking forward to seeing that midship stateroom converted with the queen. Great to see Sea Ray in touch with its supporters though, keep up the great work!

$786,110. Not bad! Less than a '15 400 Sundancer that we looked at at Marine Max in Port Clinton, OH last October.

Look at the bottom right hand corner of the big picture in the link... you'll see the price link. It took me a second look to find it!

Cheers
