I searched, and found no good answer.went to sr site and there is no email address there anymore, same at owners club.So have we been cut off from the company, thrown to the MM wolves.I know my local sr dealer wont spend a minute trying to find what i need for my older boat.I also know searay knows who made what for them and when, not all manufacturers of parts for our boats get rid of molds for parts made for more than one builder.I need to know who made the shells for my helm and companion seats, pretty simple a year ago i would e-mail SR and wait for an answer, what now?

I thought maybe you missed it on the SR site so I went looking to help you e-mail them, I couldn't find it either.....maybe I missed it too.

Glen,

What now? Simple......just post the question here or under the answers by owners section on SROC. No need to have Matt tie up his valuable time looking up parts. He needs to be selling new boats!

For Customer Service emails, on searay.com, on the home page, go to the very bottom right hand corner and next to the very bottom in the black area is a "Contact Support", click on it. This will get your email to customer service.

You are correct, your local dealer won't be any help because t he original parts vendor is no longer in business.......I think.

Now for your seating question, since the original seat source is no longer in business, there is a company that produces rotationally molded weather resistant UVI stabilized polyethylene seat shells in so many different sizes that you can find what you need from them:

Try - Kracor, 1-800-255-6335.

Here is a link to the molded seat shells:

And, for what it's worth, I used the "Contact Us" link on the Sea Ray website earlier this regarding some parts/part numbers and received an email response (with the requested detailed info) the very same day.

Thanks Matt and Frank i will try Franks venue's first,of course Matt if you are just loafing around the office(LOL) my hin is serf3275E292 and i need seat shells for the helm and companion seats.Seems the PO was a party animal,he didnt move the boat much with the engines running and still made a wake.

I am here too Glen....even though I am at the Boston Boat Show as I type this......no one is more important than you sir!

fire away!

Greetings Rusty,
Obviously, I don't think you would end up being tasked with it, but is there any way a list of past vendors of Sea Ray parts along with contact information could be compiled and put up on the owners club website? - Might be useful...

Thanks,

-Mike

I've been down this road hunting parts for older boats before. Unfortunately, I don't believe the way the data is retained at Sea Ray will allow harvesting vendor data in very expeditious way, not that it would be very useful to you anyway. The vendor information is there, but it is a part of their parts list. If you have the SR part number (the internal # contained on the parts list on searay.com or SROC) the vendor and vendor's part number is available on the SR system. However, if you need a spreader light for a 1988 340DA, it is a lot easier to take the old one off and look for a mfg. name and part number, or contact customer service and just ask than it would be to have a list of all the hardware vendors Sea Ray has used. You might have 5 or 6 different vendors' product lines from 25 years ago to research.

The other issue is that at some point, replacement parts will not be available just because there is no old stock left anywhere. I use those opportunities to upgrade and move to later technology even though it means a move away from OEM.

Perhaps its some kind of repository we do on CSR as people find stuff out

ala....

Taylor Made Products
123 Forty dollar handling fee lane
Bee Eff Idaho, 12345
Moldings, window stuff, latches

And any other pertinent info

Thanks every one,i did get an email to searay and i recived an answer today. The seats were made by duracorp in Florida.I have sent them an email and checked out thier website. When i googled duracorp the first thing that popped up was a link to a thread on csr from 2013 about this same thing and the info was that they had the molds still. So my fingers are crossed and for now i am not so sad to see spring coming on fast.

I wish they'd answer my email. I've sent 2, a week apart about my A/C water pump and have heard nothing.
Mike

hmmmmm

I wonder if there is a Bayliner forum somewhere - where a question comes up and so many people from the manufacturer jump in to offer help?

Sorry, couldn't resist....

Mark

Different SeaRay dealers have been helpful finding part numbers. I used to own a Cruisers. I belong to the Cruisers Owners Club. They have a person at their factory who's responsibility is to answer boat owner questions. It's very valuable to talk to someone.
