Looking to replace a burnt out bulb in the galley ceiling on my '04 280DA. Sea Ray part number 1425032. I called the local dealer and was told they can no longer get them. I also contacted a few different online and local vendors with no luck. This is a 110V/25W screw in bulb. Anyone else have this problem in the past and do I have any options?
 
Not sure what you mean about dual voltage bulbs.... but, pull the bulb, see if it is marked with anything from the manufacturer. You should have no problem finding an LED or halogen replacement, with or without the manufacturer markings.

It is a single bulb that will work with either 110 shore power or 12 volt battery power and the only thing stamped on the bulb is 110v/25w.
 
are you sure this is accurate?.....two of the light fixtures in my cabin ceiling have dual bulbs.....one runs off 110VAC and the other runs of 12VDC ....but both bulbs are in the same fixture.....i have never heard of a single bulb that can run off both AC ad DC power.....

but I could be wrong.....

Sea Ray part number 1425032 is not a dual voltage bulb. It is just a 120 Vac 25 watt bulb.
Dual voltage in a bulb that size would never work because of the isolation requirements between the AC and DC contacts.
 
It is a European base E14 bulb. Should be able to find a replacement online. If not they also sell e14 to candelabra conversion sockets. I bought that for my 04 300DA when I owned it. It's not a dual voltage bulb. It's 110v. Should be a 12v 10w G4 halogen bulb right next to it.

If a fixture has only 1 set of wiring and operates both on shore power and battery power, isn't it a 12v fixture, running via inverter/batteries while on shore power or genny?

(In my limited experience, fixtures identified specifically as "dual voltage" have dual wiring and multiple bulbs--one or more wired 110v and one or more wired 12v. In that case, the 12v operate while on shore power/genny or battery only; the 110v operate on shore power/genny but not battery only.)

I treat fixtures as 12v if they operate on battery power only. In your case, find a 25w or equivalent bulb with the same base style and that will fit physically inside the fixture and you should be good to go. Many folks use Amazon and other vendors for LED replacements; I'm a big fan MarineBeam for its marine-tested products and awesome customer service to find which products best suit my needs. I've even sent pics when needed if I didn't see a good match on their site. (CSR discount available--call when you place the order, before completing the payment screen.)

Yes, only one bulb in fixture.
 
Ok so it sounds as though I may have it wrong as to it being a dual voltage bulb, electrical is not my best attribute. I will have to take another look for a second bulb next spring after the winter cover comes off. Thanks for the replies everyone.
 
Half Off, I have the same boat (05 model year, made in 04). Unless your fixture has been changed, you have an 1141 base automotive 12v bulb (push in and twist), and an E14 120v bulb (screw in). The E14 is an odd bird, but they can be found. I have an extra LED E14 that fits perfectly if you'd like it. It is the 6000K color temp (bright white). PM if you'd like it.

Thanks for the heads up mjoplin. I checked with MarineBeam, trflgrl but they didn't have anything that would work. I did find an LED replacement on AMAZON but thank you for the offer mjoplin.
 
When looking for bizarre stuff bulb wise, I search a real hardware store first. If they don't have it I try Batteries + Bulbs (www.batteriesplus.com). I've usually gotten results at one or the other.
