Official (1998-2002) 310 Sundancer Thread

Thank you all for the info,

sea keeping is very important for me, as for trailer usage, the boat will be parked just 30ft from the boat ramp on a trailer, unfortunately we cannot store in a lift, so trailer is our alternative. Due to prior experience, I/O and keeping the boat in the water is not an option cor me.

thanks again

Nick

I also have the 2000 310 with Vdrives. As stated the seakeeping characteristics are great. I've had the boat out in 8-10ft waves with the occasional 12 footer thrown at us (not by choice) but the boat handled it very well, I'm 6'1" and my wife and I sleep in the forward berth. We use a thick foam mattress pad on top of the existing cushions and it's comfy enough to sleep well.
The Close-quarter maneuverability with the inboards and 4 bladed props can't be beat. We can sleep 8 on board with two in the cockpit under the camper back. I am very happy with the choice we made 17years ago when we bought it new.

I have a 2001 310 Sundancer, and am wondering where the sea strainer for the ac/heat is? I am assuming it shares a strainer with somethings else, but am wondering what. My assumption is it can't be at the for the boat o the system would not work on plane, hence my Sumption pictures for something else.

Don't know what drives you have but with V-drives the AC strainer is behind the port transmission mounted on the stringer

Hello all! Quick question here. (I hope) my boat and users manual are about 40 miles away. Can anyone confirm the TV hook ups on a 2000 310. I believe the receptacle in the cabinet by the v berth is for the antenna mounted on the radar arch and the cable receptacle by the aft cabin is for the dockside cable hookup located in the transom locker. We mounted our tv on the wall above the aft cabin and were hoping to hook it up so we could still have both options. Shouldn't be to hard. Thx for any and all help!

My sea strainer for the a/c water supply is on the port side next to the pump not behind the transmission.

My water pump isn't working. The boat has a full tank of water. When I turn the pump on I can hear it running. No water from any spigot. How do I trouble shoot this? Any thoughts on a quick fix? Something I need to check?

Check the little screen in the spy glass by the pump and also check that the screens on the faucets are not stopped up. If it's not that, you may have a bad diaphragm on the pump.

Hello to all,

I am in the market for a 2000-2002 310 DA with I/O (will be on a trailer), and I would like to know from you guys what is your opinion on this boat in general. I mean I have read 1700+ posts in this thread :smt101 but I haven't found something I was hoping for, a pros and cons list from the owners of this model. Can you fine gentlemen, owners of the 1998-2002 310DA provide us, newbies of the 1998-2002 310DA, such a list with pros and cons?

Thank you in advance,

Nick
Hello Sirs,

After all checks have been performed with success, I am almost ready to do the dive for a 2002 310 DA with I/O twin 4.2 D-Tronics 260 HPs. I haven't done a sea trial yet but that's one thing I will possibly do during the weekend, since the boat is far away from the city (Athens).

I would like to dare though to ask you two, possibly, odd questions. Please correct me if I am not on the right track here:

1) Do you find this boat easy for single hand boating? My boating style is sometimes single handed trips, and I am thinking that the place where the captain's helm is located, it is far from suitable for this use. What is your opinion about this?
2) Has anyone used a 310 for light trolling fishing? I do not mean hard core stuff! Just light trolling a few rods on the stern for small tunas and amberjacks that we have in our location. The fishing use will be so rare (3-4 times a year) that I do not want to go to the Sea Ray Amberjack path or to a pure fishing machine, BUT I would like to have this kind of potential on my boat for "non family" with my buddies free Sundays every now and then.

What are your thoughts on the above Dear Friends?

I have both captained it by myself and used it for trolling. It can do both. Remove the rear bench for more cockpit to troll.

Hey all.
It's been a LONG< LONG time since I've been here. I hope everyone is doing well. I'm currently in the process of selling my 2000 260DA "Nehalennia" and moving up to a 310DA. I've just begun reading this thread to get more information. Currently I have two boats I'm considering, both 2001 310DAs with v-drives, 350 Mags and relatively low hours. I started a group on FB too for more information but as always I appreciate the feedback here too.

Thanks

We are in our 1st season w/ our 310 and absolutely love it. Only complaint is my wife thinks our v berth isn't comfy enough. We ordered a 3" memory foam topper to replace the 1". It feels huge for a 31 compared to other boats we looked at. Storage room is unbelievable to boot! We had 7 adults and two yellow labs in the cabin last weekend chatting and touring with no complaints. Good luck buying!

Update. I cleaned the filter, no luck. Hooked up to shore water and had no issue with blocked faucets. Tried to play with the pump... No luck. so I went to the store, got a new shurflo... 4 screws and two wires later, I have water pressure!

Good afternoon. I have had this problem also, it happens that if the system go's dry (No water in tank) the system sucks in air and the system will not pull water due to the air that is trapped at the pump. What I have done is to prime the system by using a vaccum at one of the faucets or mouth to faucet to re prime the system. I don't think the pump is defective since you do hear it operating. You'll need to get the air out for it to pump water. Hope this helps.

I have a 2000 310 Sundancer with V drives. Anyone happen to know what size the port battery is? Need to replace mine and forgot to look at the size before I left the boat yesterday. I am thinking maybe a group 31 but not sure. As I remember it was slightly larger than the other two which are wired in parallel. Any help appreciated. Thanks!
