Hello all. Have a quick question. I have a 2008 260 Sundeck with a steering wheel with stereo controls on either side. I'm in the process of upgrading the stereo (actually all the electronics) to accommodate NMEA2000 (more on that later). In doing so, the controls will no longer work. Thus, I'm thinking about replacing/updating the steering wheel, as well. So the question: If I unplug the control harness(es), replace the steering wheel with one that doesn't have controls, and leave the wiring connected to nothing, will there be any issues? I ask because Sea Ray describes the controls as Smart Craft. Wondering if there's a termination issue (causing my Smart Craft system & gauges to fail). Is there a relationship? (I guess that's two questions, sorry).

Did you ever get an answer to this? Did you replace your steering wheel? I want to swap my steering wheel as well but want to know if I need to remove clockspring assembly, or can it stay and just replace the wheel and leave wires disconnected.
