Hello all,

I am upgrading my 05 420 DA original vesselview and considering the new 903 Simrad unit. I like the ability to have gauges along with chart plotter all in one unit. Has anyone upgraded to this unit and if so how do you like the interface?
I am also adding a new VHF to ditch the 240 and crappy cord and looking at the simrad vhf so I have some continuity - thoughts on that unit as well?
Thanks
chris

Nobody with Simrad 903 on here???

I don't have the 903, but I have the 702 - 2016 technology, but likely a lot of parallels.

I find the Simrad-adapted VV to be just fine. My boat actually has a Raymarine chartplotter, so I have two GPS units (not a bad thing). The Simrad interface is probably a bit more modern (I'm not sure if it's the crisper screen), but everything is straightforward in its use. As one who is relatively well-versed with software usage, there are some features I'd like to see it have (exportable reports to .csv, i.e. fuel vs RPM vs speed which I could then open up in Google Sheets and analyze), but overall it's perfectly suitable.

Mercury updates the software every now and then, and it's easily downloaded from their website. Even though I've entered my email to be alerted when there's a release, I've visited the website and discovered a new version was waiting for me.
