Grillamount Table & Grill Station for the swim platform

My Q1200 fits in the transom locker. I considered putting a large propane tank back there as well, but not sure that would be safe...more research on that needed
In case you aren't aware, per ABYC the propane can only be stored where there is a path for any potential leaking propane to "drain" out to the atmosphere. I use "drain" because propane is heavier than air and will settle to the bottom of any compartment. So you'll need a hole to the atmosphere at the bottom of that compartment. You should be able to get all your research done by reading the ABYC standard on propane installations.

I bet the transom locker has a drain hole out to the swim platform. Mine does.

The transom locker is not well sealed and there are drains, however there is electricity back there and a little spark with the right mixture of propane and air...BOOM!

West marine has 10 lb marinized cylinders...those have to seal better than the 1 lb cylinders from Home Depot.

I found the wind limit on the Q1200 grill the other day. Winds were consistent 20-25kts with gust to the upper 30’s.

I grilled hamburgers and hot dogs and it did blow out once with a big gust, so I’d say it’s good to 30kts:D

Q1200 cooks a great steak! They were done 12 minutes, grill on hottest setting, 3 minutes on each flip, with the top kept open. Perfectly med rare. Rested 10 minutes while I grilled the asparagus which also came out with a nice grill mark. Sorry didn’t get s pic of the whole meal...couldn’t wait that long!

Dtfeld,

Which Grillamount model did you purchase?

I went this same route but i reused my cockpit table for the table. I have to say it performed extremely well this summer. One thing I realized is that the grill (Weber electric) would sweat a little due to the humidity while grilling. The sweat would drip from the grill to the tabletop. since the tabletop has a lip it would collect and keep it from running down my transom. I also like that i can just store the table top in the ER in its original location.

Irie308, how did you attach the table to the Grillamount?

We no longer use the table top as a table since we went with a teak replacement. Its really just for the filler cushion so I removed the pedestal holder and the grillamount is mounted in its place.

Where do you store the grill when not in use?

Behind the steps in the cabin.

I built ours using a sheet of PVC panel from Home Depot. It folds up and stores in the cockpit table holder in the engine bay.

Some great looking stuff here! I thought about making one out of oak also but...I have a cockpit table already that i likely wouldnt use so thats a thought. I really like seeing it over the swim platform too.

I have a george foreman grill somewhere that I could break out for at the dock, although i really dont want to store 2 grills on board.

Hafnutz, that is exactly what i was thinking of making. It looks great
