Hi All,

Does anyone have a measured template for the deck carpeting/snap in flooring on an 03 Sundancer? I want to order from SeaDek, but they only have the swim platform pad on file and my boat is no accessible to measure while in storage.

In the past, I have always made templates for flooring and carpets with vapour barrier. Buy a roll from your local Home Depot or Lowes. Cut a rough template and install cheap (zinc plated) dome snaps in the appropriate spots so you can snap it down. Once tight and straight, cut off excess. Then, carefully trace where you would like the finished edge with a marker. Unsnap, trim along the line and you’re done.

Corinthian Marine Carpet has that template on file as I had one made for them for our ‘05 and your’s should be the same. I am very happy with their finished product

You should consider making your own template because there may be subtle differences between your boat and the one someone has on file.
It’s a relatively quick and easy task and you’ll be sure you’re getting the right thing for your boat.
I purchased from a company that had a template on file for my boat. When I got it, the hole for the cockpit table was off. My heart sank. I took pictures and emailed them to the salesman as soon as I installed it and saw the problem. Luckily it was a great company and the vendor replaced it after having me make a template for that piece.

Here are some tips I learned about templating to make it easier:

1. Start with a dimensionally stable (X & Y) material so that is does not stretch/shrink
2. Rough cut the templating material over sized
3. Lay down strapping tape along the perimeter - the stuff with fiberglass reinforcing
4. Lay down basting tape on top of the strapping tape (the strapping tape is for removal)
5. Lay down the templating material and get a good fit.
6. Mark the template lines down with a sharpie pen.
7. Make notes as needed on the template - making sure to mark the side
8. After marking remove templating material.
9. Remove strapping tape along with the basting tape attached.
