working on another issue with my 1988 390EC! According to the specs, the holding tank is a 30 gallon tank. Been having issues with it. Took it over to our gas dock to do some pump out work. Pumped out the tank. Once it appeared to be empty. Used a hose to fill it again as a rinse. Based on...

Glad to say that after forcing water thru for awhile, the port for the forward AC opened up! We had a bad storm and it appears there was mud or dirt in the line.

sorry to be a bit dense here but the hose you are suggesting to connect the garden house to is the input to the AC?

New question...been fighting issue with forward AC on 1988 390EC. Starts up but trips breaker after about 1 min. Also port on port side where water would normally be coming out is only working on aft AC. No water from forward ac. based on what I can see there is only one pump for the AC in the...

Neutral Safety Switch on 1988 390 EC

having to jiggle the shifter handles to start the motors. Sometimes it works quickly and some times its a 10-15 minute effort. The motors are MerCruiser 7.4 Litre, 310 HP. Can someone tell me where these switches are located? Was told by someone it was on the shifters but no luck there. I...

Wish I could help you on this one but not sure. I do see you have the same boat I have a 1988 390 EC so I thought I would ask you. I have MerCruiser 7.4 Litre, 310 HP engines in them and having trouble with the neutral safety switch. I have to "jiggle" the shifters to get the motors to start...

Me too! I have been looking at it and not sure yet how to get the sending unit out. The people at the marina said they would have to cut a hole in the deck, pull it out, put in the new one and then patch the hole! Not sure yet that I want to go that way so I continue to look

So the 1988 searay express cruiser bathroom carpet is no more! Had to pull it up becuase it was just dirty and smelled. I would like to replace it with some sort of tile. Either peel and press or trowel it on. Any suggestions, warnings, pitfalls? I did notice too that the floor is a bit spongy...

thank you all for the advice! I will definitely look at the waste tank from whale. Dr. Microchip, I was not sure if you purchased an entire new unit or just rebuilt the existing reservoir. It looks like the prior owner of my boat rebuilt it also but he used some sort of dish pan and cut holes...

looked at your photo gallery and it helped answer several questions! I had a water leak in the storage area under the floor in the salon and finally traced it to a bad hose fitting on the sump reservoir for the shower. Saw that you installed a nice new one with all the nice hose fittings. do you...

Ok..so this weekend I finally get a chance to look at the shifter underneath the panel that's above the sink and refrig. Apparently the owner before me changed the shifter out. At the helm it says its a Morse shifter. when I look underneath, there is a big red sticker that says " this does NOT...

I whole heartly agree that starting the thing up in gear would not be a smart thing to do! My wife would not like it, the boat next to me would not like or nor the boat in front of me! And I think it would scare the sea water out of me too! and maybe I am not describing the symptoms well enough...

new problem!!!! starboard motor shifter has to be wiggled, jiggled and bumped to allow me to start the motor. I believe there is a neutral safety switch somewhere that could be the culprit. Any idea where it is and if I can find a replacement for it? thanks!
