    5.0 cylinder head water leak

    My salt water 240SD has a water ingestion problem. Appears to be a pin hole above the exhaust valve on number 1 cylinder. The boat is a 2007 with +/- 600 hrs on it. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this ? Also, manifolds are partially plugged (replaced at +/- 200 hrs.)

    Windlass Problem

    Windlass problem, spools in fine but will only turn a few revolutions at a time in the out / reverse direction. Feels like the battery is way low because it looses speed as it reverses. It is original 1994 equipment. Can contactor / relay cause this condition ? Thanks for any input.

    5.0 mpi ticking noise

    I have a 2007 240 sundeck with a mercruiser 5.0 mpi. I can run all day long (if I stay under 1500 rpm) and have no abnormal noises. If I run on plane (+/- 4000 rpm) and return to idle I have a noticeable ticking noise. Once engine cools down ticking is gone. Does not sound like valve train...

    fresh water rinse

    I have a 240 sundeck with 5.0 / bravo 3. I boat in salt water but by the time I get home I am in light brackish canal water. Can I get away with a fresh water flush kit that will flush engine / exhaust ? Do I have to run the engine during to keep the thermostat open ? The boat is kept on a lift.

    Overnighting in St. Joseph

    We are planning an overnight trip from Saugatuck to St. Joseph. Can anyone recommend a marina with easy access (walking) to downtown ? Also how long / far is it from St. Joseph to Chicago ? Is there a easy place to tie up in Chicago for a few hours ? Thanks,
