The situation is becoming worse every year. If I do not use my boat for a couple of weeks, props, shafts and rudders become completely fouled by any kind of marine life..
I've read about Propspeed antifouling paint for the running gear http://www.propspeed.com
Has anyone here got experience...
So, I'm in bed with flu and my ipad... Just last week end I had some great times on the boat, and I believe it's the right time to share those memories with you!
The weather was incredibly fair, flat sea, warm water and almost no other boats around. That's the isle of Ponza in fall:
I just feel ashamed for what my Country has became... you could consider this misfortune, I consider this a symbol of our hapless situation of economics, politics, culture.:smt013

Please read about what...
What a cross-over :wow: ...the owner probably changed his mind a little too late....

This is from the test of the new 510 DA on Power & Motoryacht magazine.
From what I understand Sea Ray is saying that a solid hull is better and that with this new technique it can also be light. Well, that's something I like, lightness without a coring!!!
I’m quite tempted…price has been recently reduced from 240k to 180,000 euros! Looks to good to be true!

I’d like to go and have a look at the boat, but I’m afraid I could give in! Please convince me not to betray my old lady!!!
PS: was...
I can’t believe this! The shower sump failed last week-end and water filled the compartment under the head’s floor!!!
How can a two year old switch fail? Damn Rule!
I will now try to work out a solution. I was thinking of a double sump arrangement. If the first one fills up, then water can...
So, last week-end was the first to the islands. Some 40 miles off-shore. The boat, though shiny as new, did not go well… the engines seemed to have lost 40% of their power!
Engines accelerated up to 2300 RPM, then portboard was not able to go past that figure, and starboard only reached 2500...
So, I finally tested the freshly prop-scanned prop. I was not expecting shocking improvement in performance and in fact there were not.
Top speed was more or less the same at 28+ knots and cruise speed @2500rpm increased some .5 kts and it’s now 25.5 kts.
Results with ¾ fuel, ¾ water and 4...
Hints:
starb. Engine was using some 15% more fuel than port.
Black soot in the water expansion tank
More black smoke from exhaust, especially under acceleration
Verdict:
Cracked turbo!!! :smt089
But I’m anxiously waiting to test my prop-scanned props!!!
A mega yacht sinks in Greek waters... too many hull windows????

Cruise ship sinks in Italy...
I just do not understand how this can ever happen... in 2012!
This ship almost hit an island!!

As many other Italians, Alex Zanardi had to leave his country to find fame and honor.
As a car nuts I always liked the way he drove and his aggressiveness on the track, now I respect him as a great man! :smt038

Ok,someone thinks we are an old bunch and that's the reason we love our classic Sea Ray...:grin::grin:
So, let's start a poll and try to understand who we are!
I promised Darrel "docofthebay" to check fuel consuption of my 3208s at low rpm.
We finally had some good weather and fair sea last week end, so I was determined...but... I had a problem!
At 2500 rpm starboard engine was using some 15% more fuel than the port one and I was doing only 23 kts...
