Official 1998 Sea Ray Sundancer 290 Thread

Yes this boat has been repowered (2017) with the new 4.5L 250hp Merc's. I wanted to see if anyone had any experience with these engines. So far I have had no negative feedback on them.

Official 1998 Sea Ray Sundancer 290 Thread

Closed- the new engines are the reason I am interested in this particular boat. I think the asking price is a little high. But if I make an offer we will see. Any feedback on the 4.5L Merc engine?

Official 1998 Sea Ray Sundancer 290 Thread

Hey guys- I am downsizing from my SR 380AC. I am looking at a 1999 290 that has been repowered with 4.5L Mercs (250 HP versions). Boat looks to be in great shape (haven't seen in person yet). Anything special to look at with one of these boats? I have been a boat owner for a long time so I know...

    370 AC swim ladder pics?

Kanga- On my 380AC the swim ladder is in the center of the swim platform under a small hatch. You can see the outline of the hatch in the photo. I think if you want to add one, you might find something that mounts on the underside of the platform.

Boat Missing with 20 People on board

From what I have read there have been some heavy seas around FL these last few days. Doesn't sound like a good time to be in the Gulf Stream in an overloaded boat.

    Little Bit Moor is home...

Be aware that above the shore power inlets on the swim platform are two circuit breakers, one for each inlet. Don't ask how much time I spent looking for an electrical problem, until my dock neighbor found the circuit breaker (in about 30 seconds) :)

    Little Bit Moor is home...

"So, it was up to me... all by myself... a guy who has piloted a V-drive boat for about 10 minutes now... the hardest part was keeping my dam hands off the wheel!!" Should be straight drives on that boat (I have a 2000 380AC). Good photos and videos. I have found parts manual and owners manual...

    Portable VHF radio

I have a Standard Horizon with built in GPS, Have had it for several years, works great. I also have a barebones Uniden Atlantis that I have had for probably 15 or more years, still working and looking good. Standard Horizon, ICOM or Uniden would be the brands I would look at.

Joke Thread.. post 'em if you got 'em

A woman and a baby were in the doctor's examining room, waiting for the doctor to come in for the baby's first exam. The doctor arrived, and examined the baby, checked his weight, and being a little concerned, asked if the baby was breast-fed or bottle-fed. 'Breast-fed,' she replied. 'Well...

Eta - the storm & forecast

I rode it out in the 380 on Key Largo Sunday night. Things were rocking and rolling. The entire marina was underwater due to the storm surge and king tide. Lucky no damage other than one snap that pulled out of the hull. Sunday afternoon the were forecasting the storm to pass west of Key West...
