    Heater core

Last winter while having the system winterized one of the copper fittings on the heater core broke which at the time was no big deal as the AC/Heater was by passed so winterization could be completed. However, now I need to purchase a new heater core so that the air conditioning can be used this...

Official 1998 Sea Ray Sundancer 290 Thread

From what I understand since the cabin door slide to starboard which puts it underneath the helm, the only way to remove and fix the door is to remove the helm. To big of a job for me. I keep my tracks very clean and I am very careful when opening and closing the door to use two hands and a foot...

Official 1998 Sea Ray Sundancer 290 Thread

I recently broke my radio antenna that is mounted on the arch approximately 1 foot above the base. I installed the new antenna but can't get the new antenna to feed down past the base of the arch. There appears to be a base to the arch or perhaps the base is actually the top of the gunell of the...

Who owns the fastest Sea Ray

Google procharger superchargers and go to the marine applications. Have run them since 2002 and no problems whatsoever. Just change the oil every 40-50 hrs. I could probably increase speed with different props, however the current set-up is great out of the hole with 8 adults, water, gas, food...

Nice to have the thread, always good to hear thoughts from all those who write on CSR, and more specifically those that might share the same problems with the same boat.

    290 sundancers 1994-midyear 97 "We need a thread"

Any thoughts on why a small amount of water would accumulate in the aft cabin on the starboard end? There is no indication of leaks from above on the vinyl covered walls or ceiling of the aft cabin. Appears to be comming in from below. Could it be plugged shower drain? Any thoughts on areas that...

The best gas horsepower to weight ratio of any stock Sea Ray

Wish I had more pictures the info in the profile is pretty much it. Runs like a charm will plane like most ski boats, top speed of about 55 at lake Powell, roughly 4000' elevation. Engines have about 130 hrs, boat close to 400. B'3 with 2.2 gear ratio. Boost on the superchargers is only about...

    Cruising speed/RPM's on AJ290 or SD290???

I know we are talking different animals however I have 6.2 with supercharges and B3's, cruise at 3000 rpm/ 30mph full gas, water, gear and two adults. The boat will actually stay on plane at 24 mph with the same load without trim.

    Hard shifting

Keokie, would the issues you are talking about lead to any water in the bilge? At the end of each day I have approximately 1 gallon of water in the bilge. If it does then perhaps the shift cable bellows are bad? Thanks for your comments

    Hard shifting

Port throttle is difficult to get into forward position sometimes. There is no thumping, grinding or noise that seems to be out of line just hard to get in gear or out of gear into the neutral position. Starboard side throttle works perfect. Could it be lack of oil, grease on the throttle cable...

    sleep arrangmet on 1998 sundancer?

The salon couch on mine pulls out about 10" and allows for the long cushion to fit in the open space. You have the ability to sleep two in the forward v berth area two in the aft cabin and one on the salon couch.

I also took off my original side decals and replaced them with just the original water level stripes. Looks good, I like it much cleaner looking as as previously stated doesn't date the boat as much.
